I guess the problems start from the top. He is upset that the South African coach said the French didn't deserve to qualify. Of course, not only was the South African coach right before the games started, he was proven right as well.

However, in the Crosby/Lidstrom thing, there was no reason in the world for Crosby to not go over and shake Lidstrom's hand. What beef could Crosby have had? (I don't think he had a beef - I think he just was too busy being the Glamour Boy and couldn't be bothered till it was too late).

I've made my opinion clear, and I'm not going to change it (and it was part of a larger pattern of behavior by the fans and the owners - taunting Detroiters for not having jobs, parading the Cup around at a Tigers' game), but it's not as if I brought it up!

I don't state opinions, in general, unless I'm pretty firm about them, but I'm also not the only Wings' fans who feels this way. We've lost and won many other series, but it's certainly the first time anyone saw that. I've seen players pass each other in the line and either make a cursory shake or refuse to shake hands with someone who was involved with an intentional cheap shot, but never have I seen one captain not make sure to seek out the other. It's hockey! It's not the NBA. Hockey players are better than that!

I'm not a fan of Sid, not my style of player (I like Stevens and Neely type guys), but your hatred of him is bizarre for a hockey fan, at least any one that claims to be impartial and not a total Upton style of homer. I'm not saying you have to forgive him, but your all too clear hatred of him is disturbing for any hockey fan who appreciates the sport more than than any one team.

Not my style of hockey, and I'm not a big fan of the guy. But I do see how great a player he is. And I follow the sport closely enough to know that he's anything but a "glamour boy". The charge is so insipid, and so devoid of any hockey knowledge that it borders on pure RW style stupidity.

If I was a GM I'd be happy to take either player, Lindros or Crosby, but I'd prefer Crosby any day of the week. Lindros wanted to be the tough guy but it was clear early on that he didn't have that kind of fortitude when push came to shove. Crosby isn't the physical player Lindros was, but he has even more skill, imo. I'm not a Crosby fan, but only a maroon thinks he's not one of the best in the game.

The French didn't deserve to qualify after getting into the World Cup by way of the handball, and then they stepped it up big-time to prove to the world that they didn't belong there.

They lost to South Africa and scored only one goal in 3 games. You should need no more evidence than this that they didn't belong at the World Cup.
