It appears that Dwight Howard has found his Mojo.
I know our fellow DUer Wilt harps on Dwight not being Wilt---- blah blah blah...

BUT---these last two games Dwight has been a total freak......

Sorry Wilt that it's going against your narrative......

1. Trumad- he has played very well

and kudos to him. What I have said has been echoed by a lot of people. Really truly a great defensive player. Unsung hero of the turnaround is JJ Redick. That was a terribly refereed game last night. I expected Orlando to win. It will be a war on Friday and it's anyone's game. Ref's were out of control and you have to give the players leeway. Perkins being ejected was terrible.

2. I agree about the ejection---he should not have been..
It was a rough and tumble game and that is where I think Dwight finally found his stride...it's as if the dude said fuck it--- let's kick some ass.

Sure---he can lay a turd in the next game--- But I think he's on to something and he's making the Celt's look like old men on the court.

If the Magic win the next game and go back to Orlando for game 7--- the Celt's goose is cooked.

Dwight has shown a lot of heart and it's the best I have seen him over 2 games. He still is rather limited offensively but his defense is terrific. They played very well as a team last night and would have won ejection or not but it did restrict what the Celtics could do.

Even some of the calls on Wallace were bad. If a person on offense pushes to gt position you have to push back.
Referees should not influence the games so much.

If Perkins get's suspended for the next game it would rank up there with the San Antonio-Phoenix call when Horry threw Nash into the scorers table and the Phoenix players left the bench. Stern showed no discretion and gave San Antonio the series. It was to this point the worst call in NBA history.

4. Well---I'm a Heat fan... everything Miami for this native...
but I live in Orlando so I'm rooting for the home team... So--- if Perk gets suspended...I wouldn't mind at all--:-)

5. I'm not a Celtic fan
but a fan of the game. Did you see the play that ESPN did for the greatest steal ever? The Havlicek steal. I was watching that game on TV when it happened. Hal Greer used to take jump shots on the free throw line and my best move I stole from Chet Walker.

I just want to see good basketball and not one where the referee's and the comissioner's office affect the outcome of games.

7. Yes. He's playing well, but having Davis and Perkins out helped. He had free run of the lane. nt

8. Stan van Gundy and Jeff van Gundy
Edited on Thu May-27-10 08:45 AM by wilt the stilt
went to my college. They come from the town of Brockport. Stan was just behind me and we used to play against the varsity in the summer in pick up games. This was a jock school and we used to have 65- 70 teams in intramural basketball with many high school players playing. We were a small college and enrollment was only 10,000. At the time most were PE majors. Many of the guys in intramurals were good enough to play on the varsity.

Van Gundy's father replaced a legend in Rochester(Mauro Pannagio. His son's were really good and one is the coach of the LA Laker developmental league(Danny). His brother Mike was better.
Jeff coached at McQuaid(Catholic school) in Rochester. One of my good friend sank the winning basket for McQuaid for the city championship. I saw him beat Mike in a one on one game.

Rochester had really good basketball and once had an NBA franchise(Sacramento).

Mauro became one of the top coaches in the CBA.

I do have a fond place in my heart for these guys and I think both are really good coaches.

Upstate NY has had 3 NBA franchises. Rochester(now Sacramento, Syracuse- now Golden state and Buffalo- now San Diego. It really loves basketball.

10. I just heard van Gundy's rant against Michael Wilbon. Makes van Gundy look stupid.

And wimpy.

And Kornheiser says that it is he - Kornheiser - who is the one that criticizes van Gundy, NOT Wilbon. "I know, we look a lot alike..."
