That includes Summer as well. And I think Apolo Anton Ohno is the most exciting American Olympian, more so than Michael Phelps.

1. Yes, short track is great
Much more exciting and Ohno is just amazing to watch! The snowboard cross reminds me of short track where everyone's all crammed together in a speeding frenzy. It's amazing that they're able to do it without crasing into each other.

Watching women's downhill now. What's up with all the crashes??

3. It's a lot of fun
But I haven't seen anything out of Ohno that's as exciting as Phelps was the last two Olympics. Not even close.

4. What about the race the other night?
He hung back, then passed two skaters at once at the end. I was actually yelling "GO, GO" at the TV once he started to make his move. I've always preferred the winter games to the summer, but I have to admit that I did watch Phelps and he was exciting, too.

The US is back in the lead in the medals count. Usually we do better in the summer games, so it's nice to see this success in the winter.

5. He passed two skaters that fell
Phelps came from behind in an impossible situation.

7. Phelps was exciting and was the only Olympian I watched
but he had his lane all to himself, him against the clock. He didn't have to navigate around 3 other people while going how many miles/hr on ice skates. His gold medal total is going to stand for a LONG time!!

Wow...Shaun White just had a great run!

6. It's entertaining
If you ask me what I like there a few things I get excited about when it comes to the winter Olympics. Hockey, snowboarding, mostly. I can get into bobsleigh, skiing, and speed skating. That's about it for me.

Summer Olympics is what I really enjoy. Basketball, baseball, boxing, cycling(BMX), football(Soccer), tennis, and volleyball. I can also get into swimming, triathlon, track, and some of other events. I prefer the Summer games over the Winter ones myself with Basketball as my favorite event. :)

12. It's a great sport for all ages...
very supportive and collegial. On the ice, it's competitive, but off the ice the competitors are very friendly.

Here are my kids at the start line. I'm not nearly as stylish when I skate :)

Make it more like the chariot race from Ben Hur.

15. Ridiculous to have so many distances
There's no reason that sport deserves separate medals in the 1000 and 1500. The races evolve exactly the same.

Long track speed skating is exponentially more interesting. There are legit specialists in every distance and you can see the form breaking down as the skaters tire.

Short track caters to the frenzy for tight finishes. I hate that it receives so much prime time coverage.
