Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Tampa - Finalists for 2009 Super Bowl
NEW YORK -- Atlanta, Houston, Miami and Tampa, Fla., were selected as the four finalists for the 2009 Super Bowl.

The four were recommended by a committee of owners at a meeting in Atlanta on Wednesday. One of the four will be chosen as host by the league's owners next May.

This season's game will be played Feb. 6, 2005, in Jacksonville, Fla. The 2006 game will be in Detroit, with Miami host for the 2007 game and Phoenix in 2008.

1. How about Green Bay's Lambeau Field?
Instead of the warm climates, let's see the real men play on The Frozen Tundra like they did in Vince Lombardi's day!

Side benefit: The FCC wouldn't have to worry about any nipples being bared during halftime either!

On second thought (speaking as a walking testosterone repository) THAT'S no benefit!

:P

2. We need a Super Bowl in a cold weather climate in an outdoor stadium

Who gives a F- about the rich people who payed a fortune for their seats if it snows. How many times does a Florida City get to host a Super Bowl? Houston is also a finalist AGAIN. There should be atleast a 10 year waiting period before a city can host again. The Super Bowl always seems to be at either San Diego, Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, and New Orleans. Looks like Houston (First location to host a super bowl other then the 4 locations that I just named in 8 years) is going to be a consistent Super Bowl hoster as well. I would like to see a little more variety in the cities that host Super Bowls.

5. All 4 just hosted a Super Bowl
Last 10 Super Bowls

38: Houston, TX
37: San Diego, CA
36: New Orleans, LA
35: Tampa, FL
34: Atlanta, GA
33: Miami, FL (Broncos Super Bowl Victory) :bounce:
32: San Diego, CA (Broncos Super Bowl Victory) :bounce:
31: New Orleans, LA
30: Tempe, AZ
29: Miami, FL
28: Atlanta, GA

As I stated earlier, they should think about expanding to some other northern locations. All a team from a colder climate has to do to bring a Super Bowl to their city is convince the taxpayers to build them a state-of-the-art stadium with a roof.

6. Houston gave the world Janet's nipple
...and isn't that the kind of entertainment we all, deep down, want?

If you expect more than just football on Super Sunday; if your family craves gratuitous nudity followed immediately by the blinding irony of howling, sputtering conservative (faux) outrage, then you want the Super Bowl in Houston.

Admit it. You know that's what you really, really want.
