Folded like a cheap lawn chair--- Worst secondary in football history--Horrible Referee's.
First thing Parcell's needs to do on Monday is fire the Phins secondary coach. Game after game---receivers and tight ends are so wide open Cboy could complete a pass to them and he's fucking dead/tomb-stoned.

Miami grinds it out on the ground with about an 8 minute drive and scores---the opposing team gets it back and scores in 50 seconds.

Fucking horrible.

I'm a big scoreboard guy and I give major props to the Saint's for winning the game--- BUT God Damn it---is it me or is the refereeing in both college and the Pro's at it's all-time worst.

Both sides had bad calls in this game---- the first one against New Orleans. THE FUCKING REPLAY MACHINE WAS NOT WORKING????? So they said fuck it and gave the call to Miami even though everyone in America saw the replay and Devon Bess clearly did not catch the ball.

The N.O int return---the first one--- the dude clearly lost the ball before he scored....

The last drive where the Miami guy was desperately reaching out to get out of bounds but they said he threw an illegal forward pass----ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

To many bad fucking calls and to many huddles by the dumb ass refs trying to figure out how to call it.

AND finally----are commercials completely ruining the game. They use to instantly go to the replays on a challenged call when the call by the ref was challenged...NOW---they break away for about 10 commercials....FUCK...and every commercial break consists of 5 to 6 FUCKING COMMERCIALS!!!!!

Mother Fuckers----

OK---that's my rant.... Oh and when BOSSHOG crawls out from under his bed---tell him to go fuck himself. ;-)

1. LOL - replay machine not working?

Like they couldn't get Fox Sports to help them out any :eyes:

Edit--I'm with you on that illegal forward pass :wtf:

They have a fumble rule to prevent purpose fumbles but that applies to under two minutes and 4th down so they wanted to call that but couldn't so they made up the illegal forward pass.

2. All the refs should be fired
From that play on - they were a bunch of LOSERS

3. It's a huge important drive and they called that chickenshit penalty
pretty much killing Miami's chances.

You're right---they had no idea how to call it that's why they huddled for 5 minutes.

4. I think Miami is a really good team despite their record
First things first they have the #1 rushing offense in the league.

2nd they gave two undefeated teams, the Saints and Colts(Jax played them tough too) their toughest game so far. Secondary like you said appears to be struggling.

5. Agree on the commercials.
There is way too much stopping and starting of play in football, especially the NFL and increasingly in college.

I've been watching a lot more soccer lately as I've gotten more and more into it. Say what you will about the game if you dislike it, but one thing they do well is not stopping play. There are still commercials, but (1) they are silent and (2) the game continues at its natural pace. If I want to watch a soccer game, I know I have to commit two hours. That's it. An NFL game just lasts too damn long these days. They even delay the start of the late afternoon games to 4:15ET now. It's to make more commercial time.

7. Yo Trumad
if ya want to really vent at a team getting fucked by officiating (and you and I know the Dolphins did not today) the only reason the Stealers beat the Vikings is because of the Zebras. Stealer fans know it too but they are too busy celebrating their "win."

11. Glad I'm not the only one who thought the Vikes got robbed.
Phantom holding.

Phantom "tripping"!

What a joke. The first one negates a 35-yard play, the other one a touchdown. The Vikes were good enough to beat the Squealers, but not the combined squad of Squealers + Refs.

14. Dude.
The Refs did NOT cause the Steelers to intercept/pick up a fumble for two long scores. Thats why you guys lost the game..when you were driving you turned the ball over and the Steelers scored. I watched most of that game. And was rooting for the Vikes. It wasn't the refs. It was turnovers.

15. The first turnover doesn't happen if the phantom tripping isn't called...
because it took away a score.

I'm not taking anything away from the Steelers, they capitalized on turnovers to win. But those two calls stand out as game-changing.

Besides, they're my Vikes and I can be as big of a homer as I want! :P

19. The "tripping" penalty
was a 14 point swing in favor of the Steelers. And that's the ballgame.

20. Dungy and Harrison at NBC agreed it was a terrible call.
And bad calls are one thing, but when they change the game in such a drastic way - as you note, a 14-point swing - well, that's just inexcusable.

13. It wouldnta mattered
The Saints woulda won anyway. They can do no wrong right now. I knew as soon as they started to come back, they would find a way to win. Blame it on the refs, whatever. Bad calls happen all the time in every sport. You gotta ignore them and move on. They all even out in the end, anyway.

33. Not quite...
I posted that the refs stink league-wide and in college. I posted that they stunk for the Saint's as well. I posted once with a complaint.

You post numerous times about the Yanks because your team blows this past season.

Big Diff,,,

they would have been able to hold off the Saints in the second.

30. Perhpas if Miami had a decent secondary
and a wide receiver who can catch the ball...

They would have beat the shit out of the Saint's.

Miami gave a blueprint on how to beat the Saints--- and there ain't no doubt that teams with good defenses and a good secondary can beat that team.

35. There will be plenty of folds in that stadium
Edited on Tue Oct-27-09 03:36 PM by Awsi Dooger
There is very little home advantage. I know fellow Miami fans love to pretend otherwise, and that the home venue doesn't matter, but check the results, year after year. I have no idea how it's dismissed as mere coincidence. This year the Dolphins and Canes have played 8 home games, with 3 of them disastrous collapses in the 4th quarter while leading. The road team basically wasn't stopped on a meaningful late possession in any of those games.

The crowds are small. The stadium is cement and repels noise. The stands are in a different county. And when the heat and humidity are no longer a factor, the opponent has every opportunity to cruise. I attended the Miami/Clemson game last Saturday, a 3:30 PM start. The first half weather was brutal. Fans near me were looking for places to hide. But during the 20 minute halftime break the sun dipped, the field was covered with shade, and suddenly it was tolerable headed to pleasant. And that's exactly how the second half was played, renewed energy on both sides. I immediately projected to a day later, when Miami would host New Orleans at 4 PM. I was looking for any opportunity to bet the Saints at halftime, if it was sensible. And brother was it ever sensible, in fact looking like theft, based on how that first half ended.

The Canes and Dolphins should seize every opportunity to play at 1 PM (or earlier, in the Canes' case, noon), particularly in the early to middle of the season. Otherwise you're forfeiting the only real edge you have in that ridiculous venue.
