MLB Attendance:

I guess building new stadiums during a recession and charging more really hurts attendance.

2. Hmmm...combining new smaller stadium with...
a crappy season, I am not at all surprised the Mets have the biggest negative change in attendance.

8. they certainly
overpriced the most expensive seats. Once they made some reductions in prices, they did quite well. Even selling those seats. And they are at the top of the league in overall attendance. Other teams would kill to have the attendance numbers that the Yankees did.

6. Maybe Obama could attend more games.
Just the security would push the numbers way up.

9. Not very good figures for the Rockies
they fill only 65.2% of the seats at Coors, the worst of all the NL playoff teams by far. What does this say about the people of the Denver area?

Do you think they can manage to sell out their playoff games?

10. Coors is the third largest baseball stadium.
We're right behind Frisco in attendance.

And yes all games will be sold out. The NLDS games are already sold out.

11. That doesn't change the fact
that the Rockies are the lowest drawing playoff team, outside of Detroit (I'm assuming they'll make it)...

I've never put Denver in the same category as Detroit, perhaps I should start.

Btw, good to hear the NLDS is sold out. I bet that was a relief to you and other Rockies fans, wouldn't want to be embarrassed...now would you?

17. I do believe that your market is considerably larger than ours.
Even if you halve it with the A's.

You want me to add in New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and western Kansas to the Rockies? We may gain a few more.

20. I wouldn't want to be embarassed by finishing seven games out of the lead, either
Which, interestingly, if the season were to end tonight, is right where your guys would be.
