Dodgers rout Giants, Wolf looks impressive
Randy Wolf scattered 3 singles over 8 innings pitched and shut down the Panda while Matt Kemp, Manny Ramirez* and Andre Ethier had big RBI games as the Dodgers humiliate the Giants in SF Tuesday night by a score of 9-1.

Ramirez had a double early in the game to drive in a run, then hit a two-run homer in the seventh halfway up to the Coke bottle in back of the left field bleachers. Matt Kemp added a three-run shot to dead center later in the same inning, giving him 75 RBIs this season, tying him with Ethier for the team lead. Ethier doubled twice to right field (both of which would have been homers in any other NL stadium) as the Dodgers treated Giants starter Joe Martinez rudely.

There was a surprising number of Dodger fans in the stands as a wave of blue-jacketed stalwarts waved goodbye to the Giants fans who sprinted to the Embarcadero after the seventh inning onslaught. I expect to see plenty of brooms tomorrow as the Dodgers go for the sweep against the formidable Tim Lincecum.

8. The Panda caused a mini riot today
as he took a few steps towards the mound and pointed his finger threateningly towards the Dodger pitcher, reacting to an inside pitch that didn't even hit him. Then catcher Russell Martin started giving him what for and the benches cleared.

I have to say this, though, and we all have seen some bad officiating in sports. But the umpire crew in this series was unbelievably bad as at least 4 or 5 obvious calls went against the Giants. Most of the calls didn't really hurt the Giants but it did cost Lincecum a victory in the 9th inning today as it allowed an extra batter to come up and it was Andre Ethier who smacked a game-tying single with two outs. The Giants did salvage a win though after Jose Uribe smacked a 10th inning walkoff.

5. Giants are in a slump
it started with the sloppy game last Friday and they've now lost 4 out of 5. This comes at a bad time considering they start an 11 game road trip after today.

Btw, there's always a large amount of Giants fans at Dodger stadium when the 2 play there. That there are fans of the road team when the two California rivals meet at either venue is hardly what I would call "surprising", that's the way it's always been.

10. If you hit the glove and the ball sticks there...
Shouldn't that be an out?
