Around the horn college football predictions --Big 12
The real championship game will be played at the Red River Shootout. I give the edge to Oklahoma.

Missouri (less likely Kansas) will win the north.

Oklahoma rolls Missouri in Big 12 title game.

Some questions: Will TT be the same without Harrell? Will OSU drop off? If not, the Big 12 South will be a bloodbath.

PS: ISU and Baylor have absolutely no business being in the Big 12. They would have more success if they went to Conference USA or Mountain West.

1. I'm betting Texas Tech will drop.
Missouri will not be AS good. Texas and Boomer, again. I like Texas, Capt. Just so we don't have to watch the ex-Hawkeye Stoops choke in another Championship game.

2. That's about right. Mizzou, Kansas and K-State will all be weaker next year.
Of those three, I think Mizzou and Gary Pinkel will have the best record, though I've heard some buzz about Colorado. TT will definitely miss Crabtree (although I'm glad he went to my 49ers) and Harrell, but will still be a little better than the teams from the North. OU and Texas will of course be dominant not only in the conference, but also in any bowl games.

3. Thank you for the reply. I am suprised that a pretty exicting conference isnt getting more chatter.

4. Agree and a kick.
Obviously, we have the big one's still to come. But, yes, the Big 12 deserves a better discussion than this.

Texas will defeat Oklahoma (narrowly) in the Big 12 Championship in Cowboys Stadium on October 17th.

As for the BCS practice game on December 5th Texas will defeat Colorado.

Edited to add: I agree with you on Iowa State and Baylor. I would love for Colorado State and TCU to replace the former schools, that setup would just feel more organic. It would be even better if they could poach the Arkansas from the SEC, bring back the the old Southwest Conference. But the Big 12 won't ditch Baylor, in addition to the school's occasional baseball, track, and woman's basketball prowess they use the Bears to prop up the Big 12's already weak academic reputation.

6. Since the Big 12 was founded in 1996, Baylor has won 34 conference championships
winning titles in Women's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Men's Tennis, and Women's Tennis.

They also have National Championships in Women's Basketball, Men's Tennis and College World Series Appearances in Baseball and Softball.

We have been down in the two major sports, but Men's Basketball made the NIT finals last year and Football is no longer the doormat of the Big 12 South with Texas A&M staking claim to that role.We may even give Tech a run for their money now that we have Robert Griffin at QB.

As far as this year, I'm predicting Texas to beat Nebraska in the Big 12 championship game.

7. Texas Tech vs Colorado w/ Colorado winning
I know won't happen but those are about the only 2 teams I like from the Big 12.

I do root for notorious underdogs such as Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas has gotten better through the years.
