Has the group NRCAT been introduced here yet?
The National Religious Campaign Against Torture ( http://www.nrcat.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=451 )

Since its formation in January 2006, over 280 religious groups have joined NRCAT,
http://www.nrcat.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=59

Their primary purpose is the elimination of torture, and justice for those who have been tortured.

They are a worthwhile group and deserve support.

1. Yes, but hardly anyone was actually interested:

Discussion in this forum often swirls around some exciting vortex like "Religion is the major cause of the world's problems" or "If you're religious and not a fundamentalist, then you must still be an anti-scientific simpleton who's enabling fundamentalists" or "The Pope is a Nazi, and Hitler was a Catholic, and don't bother me with evidence to the contrary"

But thanks for the link! :D

5. Or it becomes a place
where people respond to reasoned arguments with a random google search with no understanding of what the actual content is. Hell, anyone can google "Hitler wasn't a catholic" and get some hits, but it doesn't change the facts.

6. Hey, unless you have an HD quality video of Hitler taking communion...
then OBVIOUSLY he wasn't a Catholic. I don't see why you have a problem with this standard of proof. :P

7. Oh, you're right
because I googled it, and it seems Hitler wasn't even a Christian. I'm so silly.

"But Hitler was not a Catholic, as many people think, nor a Christian at all. Please do not perpetuate this myth. What he really believed in was a sort of Nordic/Teutonic paganism, with a strong streak of Occultism. But more than anything that could be called religious, he believed in Aryan supremacy--and especially the supremacy of Adolf Hitler."

It works for so many things...

4. It's sad that torture is an issue that now has to be addressed in the US.
I thought we were passed that.
