Poll question: Loyalty versus Confidence
The assertion: "If S and T are finite collections of objects and the number of objects that are members of S is an even number and the number of objects that are members of T is an odd number, then S and T are not equal collections that merely have different names."

Note: to say that a set is "finite" is to say that there is some ordinary, non-negative whole number that is the number of elements in the set. In other words, the set doesn't have infinitely many members.

1. None of the above.
If the even set (s) is a bowl and a spoon, and the odd set (t) was 119 pieces of Honey Nut Cheerios, then it would be sad since I had no milk.

2. Jarlsberg has a pleasantly nutty taste
It's one of my favourite cheeses. But I think my very favourite must be Roquefort, which really deserves to be called the "king of cheeses".

5. Could you please explain how the Original Post is connected
to the topic of cheese?

7. What's wrong with praising cheeses?
You'll be much happier if you accept cheeses into your heart.

8. I don't claim that there's anything wrong with praising cheese.
I'm just curious as to your motivation for choosing this particular thread in this particular forum to post your praise.

10. I don't agree
I don't care for those "smelly" cheeses. I prefer the milder Munster or Jack, or a wonderful Havarti. mmmmmmm!
But I do agree with the idea of praising cheese in general. And I think we have the right to each choose the cheese we want. Isn't that what freedom of cheese is all about. I am Pro-Cheese.

12. Your proselytization is irresponsible given the incidence of cardio-vascular disease
Cheeses are one of the leading causes of death in the Western world.

I believe that you have made the most ignored poll in DU history.

4. I could send you a PM about a more ignored poll...
but you would have to promise in advance to not discuss it on the message board. Otherwise people would be able to give it attention and change its status from more ignored to less ignored.

14. You should be influencing Republicans.
Provided that they are convinced that McCain is going to lose, your influence might motivate them to either abstain from voting or vote for the anticipated winner: Obama.

9. I agree, provided these things are also true:
The objects are well-defined and numerable;

S and T are defined in terms of the enclosed objects and nothing else; (for instance if S and T were dependent on time then S might be T advanced by some time t)

Note: "numerable" means countable, like apples. But not like, say, love.
Well-defined means that you always have enough information to determine whether or not something is in one of the sets, and you always have enough information to discriminate between any two of the objects.

11. Would you say that your agreement is a matter of confidence or loyalty?
Quick guide to the difference between confidence and loyalty:

You'd stick your neck out --> confidence

You'd offer a million dollars for the assassination of the author of a book ridiculing your agreement --> loyalty

13. Confidence. I rarely use loyalty. (And never with respect to finding the truth)
