Your facebook account is now more open than you ever thought
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 10:09 PM by unlegendary
Today I just learned just how open it is. Until today I played play money poker on games.com and logged on using facebook and did so for several months until today because games.com decided to silence me from other players.
That's right. Before today I was able to chat with anyone on games.com, but now I can't chat with anyone there and why? Because on my facebook page if you click on my picture of an eyeball, http://www.facebook.com/mram50 you'll see my own argumentative views about religion. Granted they are argumentative and I don't dispute that.
In fact it says this, "I'm an atheist, not agnostic, not a buy-bullshit thumper...a goddamned atheist! Don't like it? take it up with your god."
It's not on the main page and you have to click on the eye to find it. But apparently someone on games.com found it and now they decided to censor me because of it.
It would be one thing if I had been cussing at other players, but that never happened. I'm pretty easy to get along with in fact, but I guess that doesn't matter. I logged into games.com using facebook and they don't like my views so I no longer can chat with friends there. Isn't that sweet?
Before you cut lose telling me how much games.com is a private company and can do whatever they like I already know that just like I'm a private individual and can do the same by going on every site I can find to tell people to boycott games.com and by extension AOL to make damned sure they know you (I) demand your (my) privacy is respected and your (my) views aren't used against you (me) to keep you (me) from accessing something as simple as a goddamned game.
AOL and games.com will hear from me and this is not the last of they will ever hear if it takes me the rest of my life's spare time just to get even with the bastards. Care to join me in this? I know..boring, but dammit this pisses me off!

2. Indeed
It's become the scourge of the internet and corporate America's way to learn all your dirty little secrets. To bad family members can post their crap on your site too. Mine is going away ASAP even though I never really used it for much except a few posts and to use it as a quick login method.

5. On what evidence are you basing your idea about why you can't chat
on games.com?

6. facebook has been a great resource for me
as a small business it helps me network and find jobs. I just don't post incendiary views there, or anywhere else. If I wouldn't go outside and start spouting my political and religious views at passers-by, I wouldn't type it on my public-accessible websites either.
