Piterberg. An Ottoman Tragedy: History and Historiography at play
Edited on Tue Dec-15-09 12:14 AM by scholarsOrAcademics
An Ottoman Tragedy: History and Historiography at Play, Gabriel Piterberg. 2003.
A highly desirable read for anyone reading or writing history involving documents and writings of roughly 1300 - 1690's. He applies Ricoeur, Foucault, Freud and Hayden White's "Theory of the historical Narrative to his interrogation of writers on the Ottoman Tragedy. Enlightening.
