Any Canadians out there?
Can someone please recommend a good book as a starting point for learning Canadian history?

3. Yes, but it's like reading Kenneth Roberts for history...
I'd recommend a biography of MacKenzie King because the issues that helped form modern Canada. It would cover Canada's relationship with England, it's reaction to the Great Depression, and its relationship to the US would all be covered.

Here he is with FDR and Churchill - look like characters from the Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland to me...



And here he is with Eleanor and Fala: King had to escort Eleanor to all the dinners at the Quebec conferences. They made a funny-looking pair!
