just like what you see when you look into his. Even talked about this kid who got where he needed to go because of social status and family connections. Very good book.

2. "Devil in the White City"

It amazes me how closely Holmes, the serial murder/Psycho/Sociopath, reminds me of Bush in that book. Holmes was beguiling, charming, disarming and ultimately one of the great mass murders in Chicago history. He killed women, children and his business partners. He had enablers that he duped with his manipulations. Holmes was different from Bush in that he was apparently quite intelligent though equal to Bush in that he craved power and control with breath taking disregard for life and beauty.

7. The first profile she describes

the rich young guy, I thought at first she was talking about Bush, except for the part about him sexually harrassing his employees right and left. But the other stuff fits like a glove, including his college career and the frog-blowing-up thing

8. This is such a good book.

Readable, understandable, compelling. I found her 13 Rules for Dealing with Sociopaths extremely helpful.

I wonder how we might translate those rules to apply to us as a country.

9. It accurately describes where we are headed as a nation. A nation

that is sociopath. Not just the leaders! They are raising a society full of them. It is sad and frightening.

10. Yes. When the book first came out I heard her interviewed

on NPR and definitely got the impression she was referring to Bush and the rest of the neocon bunch.

There are some estimates that up to 20% of the general population is at least borderline sociopathic, so that explains their base, I suppose.
