4. Does anyone else on Verison DSL?
Every now and then there is a site I just can't access from my computer, even though others can get it from theirs. I couldn't get Democracy Now for a whole month, and I could figure out why. I even restored my computer to factory condition and re-updated everything JUST to get on the DN site, and for some reason it didn't work for another month.

14. Now this is weird
I just got a letter from [email protected], thanking me for my donation and generally asking the extent to which I would want to be involved/receive mailings. I am seriously considering being one of the 2000 they need to go to Ohio during the vote count -- however, I cannot get any of the links in the email to work - not by clicking and not by cut and paste. Did anyone else receive this letter and are they having the same problem? IF so have you found a way around it? Thanks.

33. just reply to the email and leave the subject line unchanged
if you can please join us in ohio - the campaign says they have only 600 of the 2000 volunteers they estimate they will need!

btw this article includes interviews with kerry people that suggests they are involved in the developing recount story

7. Or maybe, and I only admit to knowing only about 49% of all this stuff,
can it be that the repubs are messing with Domain Name Servers? That is why some of us have probs and some do not, in other words the DNS that one of us uses may not have been affected yet, while for others, they have? Anyone ever have the same prob. with repub sites?

17. Hmm
Okay, I haven't been able to get into cobbvote.org today either. So I just tried something. I have two Internet Service Providers (ISP). I hung up from the one I was using. Dialed into the internet with my other ISP and I was able to connect to cobbvote.org So disconnected from that ISP and dialed back in using my original ISP from this morning, the cobbvote site once again, did not work.... Now that is odd, can anyone explain that? Oh now I am getting paranoid! Geez

I use Mozilla as well. So when I tried my experiment in my previous post. I did the experiment with both IE and Mozilla. So it isn't Mozilla that is the problem, some sort of server problem??? Hmmmm

35. Everyone who can access the site, is it because you access through
a proxy server that keeps pages cached for a while? In other words maybe the site is actually totally down, but for those of us who have an isp that does not cache web pages, we can see that the site is down, but for those of us who access the web through a proxy server, it appears as if the cobb site is up, but in reality they are getting an old cached version of the webpage. To test this, when you get the frontpage of the website, see if you can access other pages at the website, pages that you have never accessed before and hence your proxy server has not cached yet.

36. The site appears up using these "net tool" sites
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ping.ch?ip=www.votecobb.org
http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=trace&Netnic=whois.arin.net&host=www.votecobb.org

probobly not a caching issue then.

Try a "tracert" from your local computers to see where it gets "hung up".
(isp problem?)

I even tried telnetting to port 80 - no response from the server. She's definitely down. Those who are getting to it must be seeing a cached copy.
