I know why Kerry stopped fighting
They had a discharge record they were going to offer to the press of his military service. I heard rumors on the net that it was uncovered and being prepared for use in this election.

So Dems ...it is up to us. Rove always waits to the last minute to spring something on a candidate to make them "Surrender"

Let's not blame Kerry. They got a Red white and Slime envelope in
the mail. The is the worsr case scenario we didn't think of.

But Im bettin thats why he scurried to the podium in the morning to concede.

But I am watching C-Span post election voter focus group in Ohio and one of the Bush voters mentioned kerry's wife as one of her biggest reasons for choosing Bush.

Not on topic with this thread I know...just shocking that Bush voters look almost normal, know how to talk and yet say such stupid things.

14. The point?
What would be the point of that?

The election was over, the people had already voted wether there was fraud or not.

Kerry is not stupid, he wouldn't concede because he was being blackmailed and then start to make noises about running in 2008 if that "information" would still be floating around.

No, sorry not buying that. The man conceded because he wanted to run again in 2008 and didn't want to experience the "Gore" phenomena.

To most people he looks like a decent guy now for stepping down.

16. I keep hearing
Rove had something sent... take it with a grain of salt.

The reason I say this is because Edwards was so happy and persistent to count every vote.

I think Kerry had obstacles thrown at Campaign HQ beyond just the 3 million votes.

And every vote hasn't been counted. There is no real way to know unless we count every ballot by hand.

I suspect all counties had their numbers fudged greatly this time around because Bush wanted a margin of victory and they were not going to get beat by a landslide.

So i don't know why people scoff at this whole notion that Rove's militia sent something at the last minute late in the night.

He has done more evil things than that.

62. He was transferred to the Naval Reserve, there's no issue here.

He got an Honorable Discharge from the Navy. Period. You can't get both types of Discharges.

"That's still not public record."

I don't know what you mean by that, the Navy has backed up Kerry on this. Bush and his cronies should actually take the Ten Commandments to heart, one is "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

http://www.johnkerry.com/rapidresponse/080504_truth.htm...

"In total, Kerry served on active duty for three and a half years, from August 1966 until March 1970. He was transferred to the Naval Reserve in 1970, and was later transferred to the Standby Reserve in 1972, where he no longer was required to participate in Reserve activities. He received his honorable discharge in 1978."

http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/John-F.-Kerry

Also regarding his medals:
"The Navy Inspector General's office completed a review of Kerry's medals in September 2004 and concluded that "Senator Kerry's awards were properly approved"."

26. Why such condescending attitudes
Listen I think Kerry was going to fight but then he realized there was no point because they were going to drag up something in the news to distract the counting... So I think he really did pass the ball to us. And maybe thats healthy for all of us. Because we get a chance to do something this time.

I still wonder how you can count all the votes in a election in one night accurately.

Something about that to me strikes of obvious corruption.

I will change this theory "I think" why Kerry conceded instead of "I Know" that was misleading title come to think of it.

Right. Like anything in Kerry's past hadn't already been dragged up by corporate media, Swift Boat Liars, fascist 537's in the campaign!
C'mon! Kerry's got NOTHING to hide! BUSH, on the other hand, has enough in the shadows to fill a 927 page book! NOT to mention, Dick "F-Word" Cheney!

I still wonder how you can count all the votes in a election in one night accurately.

If they really wanted to, they can. Canada can hold an election night, and have ALL their votes counted in up to four hours with paper ballots!
Then again, Canada doesn't have the corruption so prevalant in this government, do they?
I believe they no longer have Republicans in any amount of control in their progressive, Canadian-electorate-friendly country.

Thats just my OPINION why I think Kerry conceded.

HOLY CHITT Let me summarize what I think

I think Kerry conceded not because of the popular vote but because he didnt want to put his family through the spectacle of being a tainting the Democratic face. Even though I knew Kerry probably had the popular vote by a big margin too.

I check Gnn.tv everyday I am so far from a troll.

Kerry Put his DD214 on his website. Every time I have had to request a copy of my DD214 is has to be a "raised seal" copy. My DD214, John Kerry's DD214 as well as every other veterans' DD214 are the absolute and unimpeachable documented record of "all" aspects of a service man's separation from the US Military. Did you not see Kerry's 214? I did. Where were these folks going to come up with something that didn't exist other than a blatant lie which could have been so easily refuted? And one more thing. If this was such a powerful weapon against Kerry why wouldn't they have used it during the campaign itself instead of some "vialed" threat to insure he did not investigate the election results? My god what a fool you are. Are you sure you're a democrat?

51. Kerry Stopped Fighting?...(no way!)
I think Kerry is doing the most sensible thing by laying low --allowing the Ralph Nader's-Bev Harris etc. groups to lay out the floor plan to exposing the truth's behind this stolen election.

How much more difficult would it be if the press jumped all over Kerry if he was to announce his personal feelings of voter-fraud etc.
it's smarter to simply allow the truths via private investigations come forward then to hamper them by starting up the "Limbaugh-Hannity" machines not to mention FOX-news putting their two cents in.

Example: Ann (the wench) Coulter couldn't refrain from bad-mouthing Keith Olbermann for his coverage...could you imagine the fuel they would have if Kerry came out and used the "F" word (fraud).

There's a time and place for Kerry and the media to get together and it has much to do with the progress that is being made, have you been to Bev Harris's web site lately? http://www.blackboxvoting.org /
Give it a hit...franc

59. Not a troll, just wrong
Why a troll would care to post this is beyond me. People, stop calling anyone who disagrees with you a troll. It makes you look like a baffoon.

TNP, that's just not true. Absolutely not.

61. The real truth is that Teresa runs a prostitution ring ...
and the Bush twins work for her. This is a
family feud, just like the Bush/OBL thing.
Now get over it ...

65. DU has become Unsubstantiated Rumor Central.
And usually from people that just joined this week.

I think we should have 200 replies discussing the truth of this.

66. A moderator on C-Span (Steve Scully is his name I think) told a
recent caller that the story on the net about the Kerry discharge was proven to not be true.

68. Part of me is upset that Kerry conceded so quickly
and part of me is proud of him acting so graceful. I really don't believe that the people wanted another incident like in 2000. If fraud is proven in ohio it is possible that we could swear in Kerry in jan. If not we need to get both houses in 06 hopefully we can have some new folks running the show to help us achieve this goal. We have a great product (so to speak) we just need to market it better like the GOP has done. We also need to ensure that fraud is not present. If you disagree with me that is fine but, in the end we all need to support the dems and retake our country.

69. I don't believe it!
These rumors were abundant prior to the election.

they would have used them if they were real, count on it.

other posts have explained it above.
