Poll question: How many hours/wk did you volunteer for Kerry/Edwards during October?
Not speaking a word of judgment, reproach or criticism except to myself. Some people will say that we lost because of gay rights, some will say abortion, some will say guns. They're wrong. With slightly more justice, some might say taxes. I say it was all my fault. I actually deluded myself that farting around on the Internet was somehow helping. If we lost (and I appreciate that with all the Republican voter fraud, this is open to question), it's my fault.

How about you? Go ahead and define "volunteering" as loosely as you like. For instance, if you were paid, go ahead and include those hours for the purposes of this poll. If you want, feel free to include DUing, blogging or other Internet activity. I can accept that others' experiences/ interpretations may be different than mine.

12. Good gracious! I hope that's total rather than per week!
If the latter, you're awesome and I hope you're getting some rest. (Actually, ditto if the former, too.):toast:

8. don't be apologetic...it ALL mattered
I was working at my local campaign office (NE Ohio) and a guy came in who had questions about info sent to him on being a poll monitor, something wasn't matching up on the paperwork...he was talking to our campaign manager when a busload of 100 people from New York came in to do phone banking and she had to ditch him to get them all in the door. I was in the other room with another volunteer getting phones and scripts for these phone bankers and realized we'd almost run out of bottled water for them. He heard me say something to another office worker and offered to go to the grocery store and buy water. I told him "No, thanks", thought it would be too much to ask, especially since he had to wait to get his questions answered. But he left and came back in about 15 minutes with 20 CASES of water in his van. We were a bit humbled to say the least, thanked him profusely and he DID get his questions answered. I'll never forget the guy.....
the little things often matter most....don't think "an hour here" and "an hour there" went unnoticed.

9. My favorite story is as I was driving my car plastered with Kerry yard
signs and VOTE NOV 2 and BUSH GOTTA GO in white shoe polish on my car windows with Eminem's Mosh blasting, four very young African American kids ran out into the street to flag me down and they asked me to take them to volunteer. I took them to Young Voter Alliance.
