Wait!... "Dismissed" FL election contests headed to FULL HOUSE VOTE!?!?!
Edited on Sat May-12-07 12:17 AM by garybeck
(message via EDA Coordinators' list serv 5/11 6:22pm, from lead attorney representing coalition of four FL Democratic Congressional candidates whose election contests were dismissed yesterday without any examination of the evidence, on a 6 - 3 vote by the House Committee on Administration).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a little good news. I just confirmed with the office of the counsel for the House Committee on Administration that the Committee's recommendation to dismiss the Florida election contests will be referred to the full House for a vote.

I imagine that they will try to do this rather quickly, but if we can get the word out about this, then we may be able to get through to some honest House members who are willing to stand up for election reform.

I will try to pin down a date, and I will let you know.

Hopefully, we can get some coverage and coordinated action to inform the public and put pressure on the House to investigate these contests.

--Mark A. Adams, Esquire JD/MBA

---

if this is true, we have an opportunity where we can all use the full court press, contact our reps, and get this thing investigated.

---

and if you have no idea what we're talking about here, the infamous FL13 is not the only place where the voting machines screwed up in Florida. In fact one patriotic candidate did the research and found near smoking guns in his election results, that definitely deserve a full investigation:

13. As someone involved in the process,
Here's the deal.

All of the Florida candidates involved in the challenge, canvassed several precincts in their districts, armed with lists of people who voted, supplied by the County Supervisors of Elections, in their respective counties.

What we discovered is, and have sworn affidavits from the voters in these precincts, as to how they voted, the numbers don't add up. The totals match, but the results don't. In some precincts we have affidavits from 25% more voters that swore they voted for us than we got. We also have people who swore affidavits that they DID NOT vote in the election, but were recorded as having done so.

The House Administration Committee refused to look at any of these affidavits. Hard proof in front of their eyes.

19. Yes, it is.
But, the chances of the full house doing anything are about nil.

20. is this not a reason why...
enacting the Holt bill is better than doing nothing at all?

they are saying lack of evidence... if there was at least a paper trail, that would be the evidence they need.

this is exactly why, although I completely agree the bill is flawed, that it still better to have it become law, than to have nothing done at all.

18. Could someone in the Clint Curtis camp put together a formal
document describing what you state in more detail? Then we could present it to our representatives and possibly get them to investigate if GaryBeck is right.

22. Can you provide details?
I'm in one of the contested congressional districts (not FL-13) and would be interested in the detailed data, both for my CD as well as the others. If you can't post them then perhaps you could PM me with them.

Or, if you're not able to release the data, can you clarify something for me? I read on Curtis' website that only Democrats and Independents were approached in the walking campaigns. But I don't believe that the election results would provide totals for just those voters. So, when you say the totals match, what do they match to? Or is my information incorrect about which voters were approached?

FL13 is going to investigation at the GAO, if that's what you mean.

this is about 4 other ones that had glaring problems in the election results but for whatever reason the media and the committees have been ignoring them. if this is really going to the full house for a vote, it's an opportunity we can't pass up.

7. no....
FL13, they will say is a mistake due to a bad ballot design. with luck we might get a revote.

the other districts in Florida appear to have actual election fraud, possible manipulation of the results.

Clint Curtis deserves an investigation as much as FL13 does.

11. please read... this is not about Jennings
to clarify, the Jennings case has already been turned over to the GAO and they are going to do an investigation.

this post is about 4 other suspicious elections in Florida, which are just as bad but the media wants us all to look the other way. The dems have not been paying attention to them either and last week in a very disappointing turn of events, they dismissed the cases. However according to this note from their lawyers, it will now go to a full house vote. If this is really happening we need to pummel our Reps to vote yes on doing an investigation on these ones too, not just Jennings.

FYI,,, Jennings can be explained by a mistakenly bad design on the ballot. The others, and this might be why they want us to look the other way, smell of more than mistakes - actual manipulation of vote totals. That's why we really need to press this.
