Cindy Sheehan calls for massive election day
Sit in at the White House

We Want our Country Back and
The Troops Home from Iraq
Massive Sit-in, White House
November 7th and 8th

http://www.michaelmoore.com/mustread/index.php?id=740
Ann Wright mentioned this in Charlotte in NC

Vote absentee so your vote will have a better chance of being counted and join Gold Star Families for Peace and other prominent peace groups and organizations in our continuing quest to end the illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq and hold our government accountable.
If the Republicans steal another election, it is time for we the people to stand up (or sit down) to demonstrate that we are finally not taking corrupt and illegitimate elections anymore. We need to surround the White House by the tens of thousands those days.

But equally important, if a miracle occurs and the Democrats take back one or both Houses of Congress, we also need to be out in great numbers to remind them that we will hold them to the same standards of peace with justice that we are about to hold the Republicans to. .....
Come and make history with us by being the checks and balances on our government that are so sorely needed! Or organize sit-ins in your community if you cant make it to DC .

13. Media sit ins
Remember how they have ignored us in the past (always lowering protest numbers), and don't forget the media blackout the day after the Nov 2004 election. Also, they were complaisant in their coverage-changing exit polls and not reporting irregularities.
They are the ones that will change this-because people aren't being informed. They need to stop giving this administration a free ticket.

11. THIS GUY....
I was curious about 'Justice Through Music' as co-founder of VR.

The mailing address for Velvet Revolution and Justice Through Music is one same Post Office Box.

Justice Through Music Project's 2005 year-end 990 shows $33,878 on hand at end of accounting year 2005. So might I assume Velvet Revolution's contrubution to the 'Reward' is $225,000 or so?

The Director (and only paid employee) of Justice Through Music is Brett Kimberlin.

Brett Kimberlin, sentenced to fifty years for drug distribution and eight bombings in Indiana... is the infamous "Speedway Bomber". He bragged of smuggling and dealing literally tons of drugs.

Kimberlin was serving time for placing and detonating a series of explosive devices in Sept. 1978 in Speedway, Indiana. In the most serious incident, Kimberlin left a gym bag in the parking lot of the Speedway High School. Carl Delong picked up the bag and the explosives detonated, tearing off his lower right leg and two fingers. Delong's wife also suffered serious injury from bomb fragments. Kimberlin is also serving time for other offenses, including impersonating a federal officer, illegal use of the Department of Defense insignia, illegal use of the Presidential seal, receipt of explosives, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana. http://www.ndsn.org/feb95/quayle.html

In fact, after being convicted of the Speedway, Indiana bombings, he sued the widow of one of his bombing victims for "violating his constitutional rights." http://www.mediaresearch.org/mediawatch/1991/watch19911 ...

Kimberlin is a well known character, after a book was written about him:

Citizen K: The Deeply Weird American Journey of Brett Kimberlin
by Mark Singer

"This book relates a journalist's worst nightmare: of getting deeply involved in a "big story" based on information from a single source who turns out to be a world-class liar."
.....

"Kimberlin turns out to be a top-flight con man."

....
"A book about a true psychopath..."

http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-Deeply-American-Journey-K ...

Maybe the bomber, "world class liar", "top-flight con man", dope smuggler, drug dealer has turned over a new leaf (though there are plenty of marijuana links on JTM site).

Is it smart to have our cause tied to a known, convicted bomber?

14. R u sure it's the *same* "Brett Kimberlin"???
Edited on Tue Oct-10-06 10:33 AM by DTinAZ
There are multiple people named "Brett Kimberlin" in the US....take a look at the listings at Zabasearch.com...they have different middle initials and birth years.

Do any of your various sources actually connect the Kimberlin of Justice Through Music with the convicted bomber?

on edit: Try a Google search on:

"justice through music" kimberlin bombings

the *only* hit is to an old DU post from "jamboi" here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

in which he claimed this same connection by starting out with "Research has revealed" but if I read the thread correctly, jamboi never provided proof (although he did keep kicking his own topic over and over again...)

15. good questions, but I see no doubt
Here is one article among several that discuss Kimberlin of Justice through Music and the band Epoxy, and his background as a 'political prisoner.'

http://www.musicdish.com/mag/index.php3?id=9259

The political prisoner riff stems (as far as I can tell) from the way the Reagan administration came down on Kimberlin when he tried to hold a press conference in 1988 to allege that he had sold pot to Dan Quayle.

http://www.pinknoiz.com/covert/kimberlin.html (I can't vouch for the source, but the info seems OK)

Kimberlin, in the statements I've found, seems to dance around the question of why he was in prison in the first place. Here's an excerpt from a WaPo story of July 4, 1990, via Lexis-Nexis:

Official Had Quayle Accuser Detained; Letter Reveals Prisoner Kept From Media on Eve of 1988 Election
Michael Isikoff

(...)
Kimberlin is serving a 50-year sentence for drug smuggling and participating in a series of 1978 bombings in Speedway, Ind., that earned him the nickname "the Speedway Bomber." During the last few weeks of the 1988 campaign, he called several news organizations to allege that he had smoked marijuana with Quayle at a fraternity party in Bloomington, Ind., in 1971 and then sold him the drug more than a dozen times over the next few years.

16. looks like he's the same one...
...according to this post by "lala_rawraw" -

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

in this GD thread -

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

it would appear that yes, he's the one from Indiana who was in prison until 1994...articles and books...strange ommissions here and there...and I've run out of time to keep looking.

However, I can confirm the connection between "velvetrevolution.us" and "Justice Through Music" but I'm not sure that it was ever "hidden" in the first place, but I'll leave that for others to discuss.

12. Even if this is a suspicious individual, the idea is perfect. Some-
one or some organization should institute just such a project. It just might deter some cheating. As the pugs know only too well, money talks.

18. Grooming a messenger to be challenged is another old ploy.
Keep your eyes on the ball. This particualr "reward" is almost certainly a distraction. If your sources need to have their egos stroked, they are not reliable sources, unless you are meaning to take them out of the game by their ramblings.

But I'm so fucking tired of games.

20. Velvet Revolution makes smoke.
I seek clarity.

Both bradblog and velvetrevolution smell too strongly of ego-building to me -- they remind me of Bev Harris and that's a bad feeling.

I say this in case you didn't know where I stand.
