Come and get it - newly updated free CD-ROM on stolen elections
Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 10:08 AM by garybeck
The free CD-ROM on election fraud has been updated. Current version is now 1.2b. If you are giving away copies, be sure to update your source disk. If you are not giving away copies, ... why aren't you?? If you don't have a copy yet, come and get it! It's free!

Updates include:

1) The CD-ROM is now titled "Electronic Voting: A Threat To Our Democracy"
it used to be called "The Truth About the 2004 Election: Why we must not get over it."
Since the focus is now the coming election, it's time to change the title. We all wish we could do something about 2004 but we just can't. We can however, use the evidence from 2004 to pitch the idea that we have an issue that needs to be dealt with. So, the content is the same, but the title has changed. I figure, people new to the subject will be more apt to check it out with the new title.

2) The WESH-TV news broadcast that covered the Harri Hursti hack in Leon County, FL is now on the CD-ROM. The broadcast exposes the huge security hole in Diebold optical-scan systems, making them just as vulnerable to rigging and hacking as the touchscreen "DRE" machines. Director of Elections Ion Sancho witnessed the hack and then declared that Diebold machines would never be used in Leon County again. In this amazing 4 minute video, he also publicly states that he believes the previous elections results were tampered with.

3) Also new to the CD-ROM is the great article by Susan Pynchon, "The Harri Hursti hack and its Importance to our Nation," which describes the hack in detail and what it means to our supposed democracy.

~4) New to the previous version of the CD-ROM, but worth mentioning because I'm sure many people haven't gotten the update yet, is the 40-minute interview with Mark Crispin Miller on CSPAN, from December 2005, shortly after his monumental book "Fooled Again" was released.

5) Also on the new version is a PDF file that you can print out, listing all the videos and documents on the CD-ROM. This menu should be printed and provided with every copy of the CD-ROM you give away. Everyone who orders the CD-ROM from now on will receive the menu page enclosed.

NOTE: if you already have a copy, please do us all a favor and go to this website and write a review:

to see a mirror of what is on the CD-ROM (the video links do NOT work, you have to get the CD for that):

14. Ahh cool.
Except it's probably easier to do it as a zip file....i think more people know how to do that then to burn a CD image, and you may not even want to burn it to a CD, just have them on ur HD.....thats what I intend to do.

16. actually...

offering only the ISO ensures that people get the whole thing exactly as intended.

I prefer that people burn the entire contents to a CD only. part of the purpose of this project is to make it so people can make more copies and give it to their friends. if I provide the zip as you suggest, people can take it apart, pick and choose different pieces, and it loses its integrity. Then if they try to make a copy for their friends, some of the links may be broken or the videos may be missing. The ISO file is the best way to make sure it stays just like it is.

Virtually every burning software package is able to burn an ISO file, so it shouldn't be much trouble. As well, instructions for burning the ISO are right on the download page. A few people have mistakenly copied the ISO file itself on to a CD and emailed me to ask why it doesn't work. I show them how to use their software to burn the image and then all is well.

Once you have the CD burned, you can do what you want with it - take it apart, copy some of the videos to your harddrive etc... But I ask that everyone keep a copy of the CD exactly as it is intended, for the purpose of making more copies and distributing them.

plus - offering the zip file means an extra step if you want to make a CD. You have to unzip it all and then burn the disk. the ISO is one step only - your software will make a CD of the ISO file directly with no steps in between.

Note - When you start the CDROM, a splash page asks you to make a voluntary pledge to make at least 3 copies of the disk and give them to others. This will only work if you do it with the entire contents of the disk.

thanks
gary

20. WHO WOULD LIKE TO HELP BUY SOME BLOG ADS TO GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS?
As you all know, this thing is free, so I am not making any money on this.

I want to get the word out more, though. When I first launched the CD-ROM, someone bought some blog ads and I think it increased traffic. I've never bought blog ads before but I'm going to look into it. I hear it's not very expensive. If anyone wants to help pay for some blog ads, I will post some info here on how much it costs and create a donation link or something like that.

Announcing just to DU is not good enuf. we need to really get the word out!
