Nov. 2, 2004: Wiretapped?
I do wonder if the republicans were tapping all the wires leading from election results coming in from around the country.

I mean, if it were me, I'd want to know first hand what the numbers were right away, and not have to wait for World News Tonight to tell me.

I mean, if it were me, and I was in the White House, don't you think I'd pull a few strings and get the scoop hot off the wire? Especially if I already had a secret program running to tap any wire I wanted.

In fact, if I had that secret program which was routed through the NSA, anyone's phone or computer would be at my mercy. And without having to ask a judge to ok my tapping, every line, e-mail or data transmission was, indeed, at the mercy of the White House on Nov. 2, 2004.

1. Hmmmm, verrrry interesting...
How do we amplify this? Is anyone (Rawstory? BBV?) investigating?

2. I've asked this before but never got much of an answer:
Can you think of any anomolous events during the campaign that might point to a tapping of the Kerry campaign's communications? Any times when the Puggies suddenly did something that suggested they had advance knowledge of Dem campaign plans?

I've thought about this and come up dry.

Anybody else got any ideas?

3. Let us hope
That staffers from Kerry and the DNC still read DU. They may be able to remember the strange ironies that developed during the heat of the campaign. But I wouldn't bet on them turning something out.

Wouldn't it be enough to see how many wiretaps the NSA had going on election day and on the days before and after? I bet there was one hell of a spike on Tuesday.

4. The inquiry probly oughtta be expanded to the Dean campaign too--
I've always wondered if they were more afraid of Dean's potential than of Kerry. When Dean started raising all that money on the net, got the Dean for America grassroots org going, etc., he was suddenly making a splash doing things no conventional politician had ever done, using the net.

6. And then this....
....if indeed, they were intercepting transmissions could they not also change/alter the transmission?

In other words, say a county's returns were being sent over a tele line and they didn't let it go through, but intercepted it and in it's place sent their own numbers to the intended recipient, such as the sate BOE.

7. Chances are...
I would be highly suspect, especially considering that Christiane Amanpour is married to Jamie Rubin, a top adviser to the Kerry campaign.

How many calls to the Middle East do you think Christiane makes? Or receives? From what little we have heard, that alone would give them a green light to tap all of her phones, including ones her husband used.

8. Of course...
...she is a reporter who damn sure gets calls from the middle east all the time, so, her line would'a been a suspected terrorist tool. And since her husband uses the home phone, too, he's tapped.

It's why judges are supposed to approve of such shenanigans... to make sure only real suspects get tapped. But, no, not under this bunch of squatters, they just willy-nilly tap whoever they want!
