Georgia election reform activist being harassed by the state

Roxanne Jekot (CountTheVote.org and onetime DU poster) has worked long and hard to expose the failings of Georgia's Diebold election system. She believes she is the target for harassment by the state of Georgia in retaliation for her efforts. Read her account here:

So, to sum it all up, since October 2005:

1. We paid the taxes on our home (of 12 years) through an escrow account maintained by the lendor. Despite that, the State foreclosed on and sold the home, and forced us to move to the above rental
2. The license plates on our vehicles have been cancelled/suspended
3. My drivers license has been suspended
4. Our voter registration has been moved to inactive status

This looks like a very ryral part of Ga. Those places are notorious for having clan like law enforcement. Everyone knows everyone's business and they don't like people making waves.

1. No other reason for foreclosing? Some deadline wasn't met?
2. Why the license plate suspension? Traffic fines? Tickets?

If there are no real reasons for these, can't you sue the state and get plenty of pay-back?

I worked with Roxanne while in Georgia.

1. Not sure of the specifics, but I have no doubt she can prove her claims. She doesn't speak out without clear and convincing proof.

2. 4 different vehicles, 3 different owners, no tickets, no traffic fines. I've seen the documentation from her insurance records with the drivers given a discount for safe driver credits.

regarding my county's ES&S system, and what questions to ask to verify my precints tallies. She's a great person, and no doubt can substantiate anything she posts. Hopefully Cynthia McKinney can go to bat for her. Roxanne has gone to bat for Cynthia in the past.

Absolutely frightening how many strings can be pulled invisibly that can mess with a person's/family's life.
