If I were going to steal a presidential election, I'd...
1. make it a talking point that once most people got into their private voting booths they were going to vote for the president, despite what they had told pollsters
2. have voting machines with no record or verifiability in place in key states, not to mention election officials active in the president's campaign
3. call mainstream media people throughout Election Day to tell them that exit poll numbers were under-representing the president
4. label anyone who thought anything was odd with the "results" as a lunatic, traitor, or sore loser

4. All you have to know is...
That there were a great number of e-Voting machines whose counts COULD NOT BE PROPERLY VERIFIED to know that the election was fraudulent.

No other country in the world would have elections using this type of voting, and if they were considered inimical to the USA and tried, THE GOP would SCREAM "Voter Fraud!!!" Constantly.

Yet no one is being held to account in the USA...

Psst...Freedom is on the march.

7. 10. Make just enough of the opposition believe that it was...
...their fault by not reaching out to real Americans, not giving moral values higher priority, and not framing complex issues in simple, bumper-sticker slogans.

12. We need lawyers in CA to fight for Registrars to provide paper ballots as
ordered by Kevin Shelley 4/30/04...any lawyers out there?

This from an activist in Northern CA:

A small group of us--including a Berkeley city councilmember---had plans to meet with Assistant Secretary of  State Brad Clark  to discuss various issues, including paper ballots for the Special Election.  However, he sent us some unwelcome, stunning news in an email today.

Mr. Clark wrote:

"...your phone message mentioned that you wanted the Secretary of State to provide signs for polling places informing voters that they have a right to a paper ballot.  I can tell you now that we will not do that for two reasons.  One is that it is not a budgeted item and secondly our attorneys have opined that there is no legal authority for requiring paper ballots in polling places in counties that use electronic voting equipment.  Voters who prefer paper ballots can vote by absentee ballot or in the office of the election official."

This, of course, directly contradicts the Shelly Directives, officially called the "Conditional Certifications." I felt I had no option but to postpone the scheduled meeting until a group like CEPN could strategize about the best course of action to take. (This development is particularly sad because the Registrar in our county, Alameda, has plans to order a lot of paper ballots and to have voters cast them as regular ballots.)

Here is the main part of my response to Brad Clark:

"I was surprised to read your lawyer's opinion on the requirements of the 'Conditional Certifications.'  I have an opposite view.  Given my surprise at this development, I feel I need to seek advice.  I plan to contact the California Election Protection Network, and ask them to seek the advice of their attorneys on this matter."

What's next??

15. I appreciate the humor...unfortunately this is a question of dire
importance. If the redistricting initiative on the special election ballot passes, it could turn Calif. red forever. If CA goes red, guess what happens to the rest of the US??

we need to have a paper trail for this election. we need lawyers. help!!!

14. forget everything else. all it takes is one thing:
rig the voting machines.

it doesn't matter about "convincing the public" or anything else. when you own the voting machines, you can do whatever you want and not have to worry about anything.
