From my thread on the Wisconsin State Journal article.
http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/local/index.php?ntid=39799&ntpid=4"Although the number of mysterious votes dropped this week from around 7,000 - first identified by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in January - to 4,609 through an ongoing state and federal investigation, it constitutes by far the biggest share of disputed votes in the last election." from article linked above.
Kerry won Wisconsin by 11384 votes.
If there is 4 609 disputed votes what does it mean?
Did the repubs just about manage to steal Wisconsin?
The 4 609 votes amount to about 1% of the Milwaukee total.
However they account for 40% of the winning margin.
That was one hell of a tight race.
Kerry 49,699717%
* 49,319871%
Nader 0,546878%
http://elections.state.wi.us/docview.asp?docid=1416&loc... I have looked at the exit poll numbers and they don't make much sense.
The 12.21am nov 3 numbers show 49,2% for K and 48,8 for *
The 2.06pm nov 3 numbers show 49,7% for K and 48,8 for * (measured from gender question or 50,3% for K and 50,2% from ideology question???)
As we can see the result for * is very different to the exit poll numbers.
If somebody wants to have a look at the numbers here are the link for the exit poll numbers: 12.21am from scoop
http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0411/S00142.htm scroll down a bit for WI results and CNN for 2.06pm
http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/stat... With such a close margin wouldn't the repubs want to take WI too, wouldn't it make the mandate look even better?
