if on November 3, 2004, Mitofsky had refused to adjust the exit poll numbers showing a 3% Kerry victory to match the actual tabulations showing a 2.5% Bush victory?

Would Kerry have conceded or would we have had another election contest like 2000?

1. Falujah, Falujah, Falujah

Rove timed the invasion of Falujah to coincide with the stolen election. If Kerry had challenged the results, the smear machine was ready to paint him as unpatriotic by putting our troops in jeopardy. Kerry was smart enough to see that, but not smart enough to see it coming from a distance. If he had challenged, Rove could have very well ended Kerry's career right then and there.

6. I disagree - he would have lost his career

AND hurt the Democratic party big time had he tried to fight the election results with no proof of ANYTHING. I'm not talking about the numbers in the OP's post, I'm talking about the actual numbers. He had no PROOF and no reason to argue. Why people still seem to think he should have made an idiot of himself, when he would have lost anyway, is beyond me. It would have helped no one, and it would have hurt the entire party.

The rethugs OWN the media, the rethugs own EVERYTHING. They would have chewed Kerry up and spit him out, and the entire country (who are not as enlightened as those of us on DU), would have thought he was a sore loser, and probably insane, when the RW media was done with him.

He had no PROOF. There is still no PROOF. He had nothing to fight with, as you need facts to fight with. Have you noticed how the rethugs are laughing at the facts that HAVE come out? Particularly in Ohio - Blackwell LAUGHS at the allegations, and is probably going to be promoted, when he should be going to jail. Until something can be proven, nothing can be done. I just hope it can be proven before the next election.

How would he have served the needs of the nation by becoming a laughing-stock? Do you remember Gore - who DID have a reason?

Kerry is serving the nation now, far better than he would have been able to had he been a victim of the RW spin that would have destroyed him.

It's hard for most people to even fathom a stolen election in America. Imagine what people would think of candidates refusing to concede without proof.
