Washington Post interviews Jeff Gannon - Jeff explains...
<<snip>>
In the interview, Gannon did not dispute evidence that he has advertised himself as a $200-an-hour gay escort but would not specifically address such questions.

1. This is disgusting
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 12:34 PM by Chicago1
This story gets more disgusting by the minute. I PRAY that this will help unravel more clues.

Waiting for the IMPEACHMENT WHILE THE SCANDALS KEEP UNFOLDING

2. I see he's using the "Get out of Jail Free" Card - Christian Forgiveness
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 01:24 PM by RobertSeattle
Which of course is a good thing, but only seems to work for Conservatives in modern day politics.

Last 2 paragraphs:

Despite the battering he has taken, Gannon hasn't abandoned plans to work in journalism and hopes to generate sympathy by speaking out.

"People criticize me for being a Christian and having some of these questionable things in my past," he said. "I believe in a God of forgiveness."

4. Fact check?
Forgiveness, as I recall, comes after renunciation.

If Gannon is still hosting the web sites in question, it is - well - misleading to say that this stuff is in his past. I know that the past includes a minute ago, but when he complains that people are bringing up his questionable past, we have to question exactly when the bad past ended and the good stuff began.

John Aravosis posted a response to the Washington Post interview on his AmericaBlog that addresses this point.

"Gannon didn't tell the truth about when he started using pseudonym "

1. His past. The escort profiles soliciting clients are still live, Jeff. You say once something is on the Internet it's always there. We're talking about LIVE profiles you have up. They're only "always there" if you choose to leave them live. This is ridiculous

More good points there too.

3. IOKIYAR rule in effect here.
Irony, hyposcrisy and unmitigated gall are not even considered.

5. It's all about how the MSM spins it
He has given them a couple of seductive sound bytes. Most people never heard Condi say that the tsunami was a wonderful opportunity, but they all heard her tell BB not to impugn her integrity. Lest we forget, neoconservative media monopolies are still the major roadblock.
