So you think Diane Feinstein has to go?
Who could she be replaced with that will clearly stand with Boxer if not go farther than her?

Maxine Waters, of course. Rep. Waters would be an excellent replacement for Feinstein.

Think about it.

1. Question: Is the phrase "Chinaman's chance" is considered bigotted, right?
Well, try to find the acceptable alternative.

28. How could any Dem(or Repub for that matter) vote to confirm?
especially after the comments Condi made today. She showed her true colors on the tsunami, torture, the reason for war, unfair preference for some countries, her unwillingness to question the administratin, ect. ect.

I'd LOVE him to be our Senator. He and Boxer would make a really great team.

Feinstein can bite my shiny metal ass

5. no serious democrat will challenge Feinstein
She is the states most popular democratic politician. She always wins by big margins. She was the democrat people were pleading with to go up against Arnold for Governor in the recall election last year. I'm not a Feinstein fan, but those are the facts.

Boxer is much bigger than her now, IMO.

And I'd love DiFi to run against Arnold in 06. That way she's out of the Senate.

23. Feinstein is a nobody now
Feinstein is a nobody now, and anyone who refuses to stand up to the Bushies might as well switch parties and be done with it. There comes a time when you have to make your choice and choose which side of the fence you want to be on. Are you going to stand for democracy or treasonous fascism? If Feinstein doesn't choose democracy then she is as good as a goose stepper.

26. Feinstein is much more popular in California than Boxer
with the general population. The liberals & progressives prefer Boxer. The centerists and moderates, a larger number of the population, prefers Feinstein.

She has no chance in hell of being elected to a statewide office. Result, one more seat lost to the Republicans.

Right now? A: Feinstein or B: Boxer?

The answer to that question will tell you who's got the power and who's weak, right now in Cali.

11. Problem is that Waters couldn't beat Feinstein in a primary
Feinstein is the most popular Democrat in California. Doesn't anyone remember all the pressure that was on her to enter the recall election two years ago?

12. U have 2 make your voice heard @ the STATE
Democtratic party level and we should have started 3 years ago. The State Dem convention is in April and as disgusted w/ DF as I am, I know there is not someone we can get out 2 run successfully against her and whoever the rethugs put up. There isn't time. The primary is a year away. At the state level we need 2 B concentrating on getting rid of steroid boy and his governing by initiative ploy or we R going 2 lose this state 2 the rethugs. We need to shore up Sacramento first! Especially since it was stolen thru that phoney chicken-sh*t recall.

13. Ya think Dianne Feinstein is a bit conflicted???
-snip-

Insiders told the Nelson Report that Zoellick decided to take the position on the assumption that he would be the logical choice for secretary of state if Rice left to return to academic life or run for the Senate next year against the Democratic incumbent, Dianne Feinstein, or if a Republican candidate wins the 2008 presidential election.

14. No Way
She is one of the most popular politicians on our team. We might disagree with her sometimes..even often. But she is way better than running someone who will lose against a Republican. And that is what would happen if we ran a Maxine Waters.

Have you forgotten who our governor is? Have you forgotten that this is the state that elected Reagan, and Wilson? That recalled Davis? Have you forgotten that this is the state that passed Prop 187?

Yeah...please lets not eat our own. Diane might not be the best, but she IS charismatic, and does pull in voters from both political parties. It's much easier to pressure her to swing left than to replace her with someone who can both win an election and do more of the things we like.

17. I'm part of the "let's win" gang!
Look, if all you do is vote 100% on principal, then fucking vote for the Greens. Me, I will vote for the best reasonable choice of the realistic options.

Now mind you, that does NOT mean voting based on someone's resume. It does me voting for someone with both a pulse and some charisma.

18. I don't think we're voting right now.
I could be wrong, but I think what we're doing here at the moment is looking at ways to understand how we got here, what we do, and how to move forward. So when it comes time to vote again we're well informed and have a better idea of what needs to be done.

*shrug* Seems kinda obvious to me.

24. Principals and spine come first, winning is the result of both being there
"Look, if all you do is vote 100% on principal,"

Didn't we get in the position we are in by abandoning principals? Look at the Repugs, they abandoned principals just to win, is that what you want to emulate?

"The lesser of two evils, is still evil."

"Evil men win when good men do nothing."

Voters know how to recognize morals when they see them, we need morals and a "pulse," Boxer is rapidly developing both. Someone that doesn't show up to do her job doesn't have a pulse, or a chance. Remember how the pugs got over on Kerry? By Kerry supposedly being soft. We need rigid, bold leaders whose stances are based in reality.

Again, as I said to the other gentleman, I'm not attacking you. I just want to provide some ideas that you can jumble around in your mental process. I consider yours, so all that I ask is that you consider mine.

32. I am considering it
I really am. I just think you are seriously out of touch with public opinion concerning Boxer. She won this last election because essentially nobody ran against her. But she is NOT popular. She would get CRUSHED running for President. And I am not saying she shouldn't make a go of it...I'm just saying that her running would end just like Kucinich.

That's enuff for me. We have to hold our own accountable, and Dianne just isn't showing up or speaking out on the critical issues.

16. Which other Democrats could win a state-wide race for Senate --
-- even if he/she could unseat Feinstein in the primary?

Is George Clooney a California resident? The man has a lot of brainpower. He more or less eviscerated Bill O'Reilly last week on the tsunami telethon.
