Isn't it odd that F9-11 just won the "People's Choice"
Award as best fim, when the so called "majority" of Americans, hate Michael Moore and this film as much as they love Bush? Makes you kind of wonder about the Presidential election, doesn't it? Funny what happens when they count the vote!

9. Can't wait to see how Right Wing media spins this one!
This is great, because the right wingers can't blame it on "left wing" media. People's Choice awards are determined by ordinary folks, unlike the Oscars or Golden Globes. And it's Favorite movie, not just documentary!!! :bounce:

2. They aren't anywhere near a majority.
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 04:14 AM by chicagojoe
They may have been a majority of the voters on Election Day 2004-The Revenge of the Nerds, but how many Americans voted?
Even the Radical Religious Right will tire of Bush's act in time. When the Reshlublican Party loses them, they're toast.
Congratulations, Michael Moore!!!!

3. could it be a trick?
Do they usually tell who wins ahead of time? I'm paranoid about this time of the century.

6. No it's true. CBS does tell them ahead of time.
Notice he won when they didn't use Gallup! I find that interesting as well!

14. Yes
That allows people to vote en masse, like when a poll or story is DU'd.

edit to change my original after reading:

Wait this story is just speculation and did you read the last paragraph of the votes? Hmmmm. This is weird and feels like a bogus report "scandal"... the fucking movie made 80mil the weekend it opened or something insane like that. Not really gonna by this story. I'm waiting till Sun.

12. Oh this is so wonderful that Michael won.
I am so happy for him. I sent him an email a few hours ago thanking him for opening my eyes to the horrors that this administration has done through the years.

I thought it was kind of strange that Moore said he'd be at the ceremonies.......hope he wasn't set up.

Oh how I wish for another acceptance speech a la his Oscar win.

16. How definite is this?
I hope its true though. I note that the report makes mention of the possibility of Fahrenheit winning the best picture Oscar:

"Oscarwatchers Wonder: Can "Fahrenheit's" Victory Bolster Its Chance to Win Best Picture at the Oscars?"

But didn't MM withdraw Fahrenheit from the best picture category?

18. Best Picture
I believe that MM withdrew F9/11 from the Best Documentary category, but it's still in the running for a nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars.
