Something we CAN do without the help of federal politicians
Those of you who are in states with Democratic party majority in the state senate and house can really be instrumental in election reform.
Where you lead, other states will be compelled to follow.

If you get organized and INSIST that your state becomes a completely paper ballot state. You will have to become very educated on the matter and organize to educate your representatives. You will also have to organize to convince them you mean business and that you decide, not them and not the people who are lobbying to sell them electronic voting machines.

If you can do that in states with democratic leadership the idea will catch on and we may be able to get national politicians and states with mixed representatives and democratic governors to follow suit.

This is something that can be done. National election reform is not going to happen. Waiting for the democrats in congress to be able to pull that off is a waste of time and nothing but a reason to be lazy. They can not do it without any power. But we can reform the system state by state.

Who wants to start scheduling Election reform camps? Who wants to start writing the research that proves paper ballots are doable and the most trustworthy measure?
I am in Pa and we have a republican state house and senate, but I will come to NY or NJ or MD if you get something going.

6. How will it work?
Are you saying paper ballots counted by hand, or paper ballots read through an electronic tabulator?
