"Got a Black Magic Marker" campaign of silent protest
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 03:36 PM by rainy
What if we all, starting now, go about the country with a black magic marker and write political messages on everything and web page addresses everywhere? On bus windows, store windows, dollars, products, gas station pumps, elevators, bathroom doors, doors to other places, napkins in restaurants, glasses in bars. How cool would that be?

During the lead up to the Iraq war I wrote under stop signs "The War" with a white oil pastel. It wore off, but, it took months and months to finally wear off.

Some slogan examples have already been mentioned here at DU

5. Wow! Thats a lot of posting
This is a mild form of disobedience and doing things by the book does seem to get us nowhere. Be brave! I guess we shouldn't advocate civil disobedience but protesting doesn't get media attention anymore and they are too steeped in corporatism. How do we get attention to our issues now? How do we take back our airwaves?

8. I've been here a while.
I understand what you're saying, but defacing property is a lousy way to go about it, IMHO. I think the negative reaction will outweigh the positive.
