If Dems cannot come to Canada, let Canada come to the Dems
Let us think about the possibility of secession, not going it alone but joining our Blue states and forces with Canada and becoming Canadian citizens:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/spl/hi/americas/04/vot...

1) All of the blue states form areas contiguous to Canada.
2) The Canadian wheat belt lies between the West Coast Blue states and Great Lakes blue states and would love to have our commerce.
3) We can transport our goods coast to coast via Canadian Pacific.
4) The Canadians and ourselves are LIKEMINDED and share ethical principles and convictions about human rights, environmental protection, peaceful coexistence, etc.
5. We bring 9/10 of the wealth in this nation with us!
a) Great Lakes shipping
b) New York and New Jersey industrial centers and finance
c) Chicago futures and options
d) ALL of the west coast Pacific rim commerce
e) California's central valley growers.
f) LION'S SHARE OF THE US PORTS AND US NAVAL POWER
g) Most of the nation's ski industry. Let's starve Nevada,
Colorado and Utah of the ski dollars.
H) Hawaii, which will give Canada a mid-Pacific shipping point
and financial presence.

6. We could VOTE FAIRLY AND CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY.

This would be the most powerful way to starve the beast. All in favor say "Ay!"

6. Me too
If it started to actually happen, I'd be right there anyway. Hell, I'd probably enlist in the millitary and I'm a Godless Commie Pinko Faggot Peacenik.

8. Canada should NOT allow this or even want it
after all, even the blue states have lots of red voters.

Much more sensible would be secession, that is, the blue states banding together and splitting from the rest of the country.

Short of that, blue states should band together and pool their resources, withdraw from federal mandates etc and fund the kind of government that people here want. California did something like this on stem cell research. We need to take that approach and greatly expand it.

And cut off the subsidies that blue states are sending to red states.
