When did Conservatism become a word to be worshipped and
Liberalism become one to be disdained...Seriously, folks..? My thinking on conservatism is similar to the Jim Jones crowd that drank the purple flavoraid and followed their leader to death...don't you dare change anything..ever...Whereas, I think liberalism brings one to open thinking and hope in what could be rather than a backward looking review to keep things in place.

1. The new "conservatism"
is a smokescreen for theocratic fascism.

"Conservatism" is in vogue because "liberalism" has been demonized.

Conservative = GOOD
Liberal = Evil

3. Not in my house...
I readily identified myself as a liberal even when I was in the military. My two best friends in the world, also liberals, also veterans, are completely floored by what happened last tuesday. We're ready to make sweeping changes. We need someone Clintonesque. IMO, what we need is Barak Obama.

and started calling us the "Democrat Party."

6. Whenever I would see a * ad on television
that said something to the effect, "John Kerry and the liberals in congress" or "John Kerry and his liberal allies" I would replace the word liberal with "Jew" or "Black Allies" and it of course sounded like this, "John Kerry and the Jews in congress..." or "John Kerry and his Black Allies cut spending in..." It wasn't enough for them to attack Kerry, they had to demonize the liberals.

That is direction our country is heading and it is ugly. They have demonized the liberals like the facists did the Jews and it is a pretty disgusting sight.

9. I think it first started
in 1964 wi5th Goldwater.

"In your heart, you know he's right."

I think it's when conservatives said screw it. We'ew conservative and proud of it, and if we lose, who cares.

Reagan picked up that sword and made it into a 20 year movementwhich culminated with Newt Gingrich and the contract with america.

I think there's something to be learned from it.

Be proud of what you are. Be clear in what you want and people will respect you for it.
