Dear Senator Boxer:

One small step for a woman, one giant leap for democracy. Thank you for your courage, for remembering what democracy is all about, to ensure that our votes count, no matter our station in life. Because of your position on this matter, I will contribute to your next campaign, although I am not a constituent.

My Senator is Ron Wyden. I have called his office and pleaded that if he does not stand with Rep. Conyers, that it will cause apathy amongst voters, especially the youth and people of color. I called again this morning and he has yet to decide, to which I informed his staff that he almost lost me with the Medicare vote and if he does not stand with you on the electoral challenge, I will abstain from voting for him in the next election.

Thank you again, you are breathing life into the Democratic party.

I firmly believe that had this issue been ignored, many people of color and the young voters would have shrugged and said, "Why bother voting? My vote doesn't matter anyway." I grew up thinking the same thing, and eventually changed my mind. However, with this election, I found myself believing that perhaps it really doesn't make any difference, and the racist overtones of the Ohio election were frankly driving me nuts. I do not want to believe that Americans would look the other way at such an offensive practice.

Thank you so much for standing up and putting your name on the challenge for this election! I worked as a nonpartisan poll monitor in West Palm Beach, FL on Nov. 2nd, because I believe that the 2000 election was stolen, and massive fraud did and does exist.

I know your challenge will not change the outcome of this election, but I think it is very important to get it on the record that this election and the last election were filled with fraud and corruption, especially in suppressing the black vote. Again, thank you so much! You give me hope just when it is needed most, that there are still some decent politicians that want to do the right thing.
