So, what happened to the Recount Legal Fund?
I gave $150 to the Kerry campaign for their special recount fund on the strength of Kerry's promise to contest this damned sham election.

Obviously, he did not keep that promise.

What becomes of the fund? I think that it ought to be refunded to contributors in full, given that nothing whatsoever was done to contest the election.

Does anybody know what the law would require in this case?

1. I got an email from our local candidate after the election
In it, he offered a refund to anyone who donated to his campaign and wanted their money back. Nice, huh? That's Dave Thomas, the one who couldn't unseat Rep. Beauprez.

So, why not ask for your money back? It's a reasonable request given that the effort never even materialized.

2. I wonder who I'd ask...
I was under the impression that the Kerry organization collapsed and went home.

3. Exactly.
THe campaign send us e-mails warning about 2000 election and saying the same thing will not happen again if we donate money for thousands of lawyers, who were supposedly ready to contest the election and fight till the end.
So, what happened with that? Where are all the lawyers?
