63. OK, Ga has something Juicy
MSM, in GA, a citizen received a letter quoting the Patriot act when asking for a simple Open Records Request..

the letter sent from the Secretary of State's office read:

"Second, the CD-ROM mentioned in the request should not be copied or provided for disclosure because it has elements of computer programs and computer software as described by OCGA 50-18-72(f) and it may contain information the disclosure of which would compromise security against sabotage or criminal or terrorist acts and the nondisclosure of which is necessary for protection of life, safety or public property (OCGA 50-18-72(a)(15)(A)"

The problem is that they are saying some Diebold software is MORE important than giving election results data to a citizen. The even bigger problem is that if you believe their argument, the election should be nullified because in 2002 6 GEMS servers and a Diebold touchscreen were stolen and never recovered. If you use this same law above, the stolen GEMS servers should be cause for nullifying the election results as you cannot certify when such machines are not in safe keeping of the secretary of State (We have their office on audio/video admitting the stolen machines and a police report).

Either way, it's fishy that the CD-ROM is something they are desperate not to have released... if we get the CDROM through a grand jury hearing, GA may be the first real place with solid damning evidence of fraud because it is a 100% diebold state.. and after 154 years of democratic governors in 2002 when these machines were installed and now by 2004, the state is now completely republican (senators, governors, house and senate). The facts are right there... I'm working on getting the rest, but this is a story... and someone should really pay attention to what's happened.. it happened to me personally and it's really frustrating when all I am trying to do is get auditable election data.

18. Newly released Exit poll data- strong evidence Kerry won
Newly released Media Exit Poll:

1) 59% of the 17% who did NOT vote in 2000 but who did in 2004 voted for Kerry. Just 39% for Bush.

2) 65% of those who did NOT vote for Bush or Gore in 2000 voted for Kerry. Just 13% for Bush and 16% for Nader.

3) 91% of those who voted for Gore, voted for Kerry.

4) 90% of those who voted for Bush in 2000, voted for Bush in 2004.

5) 20% (approx) of all voters are new voters. Of these voters according to the exit polls 65% voted Kerry and 35% voted Bush

6)The exit poll from the South shows Kerry won 64% of the Hispanic Vote.

7) Kerry's margin of victory was INCREASING, not decreasing as the day grew later

Some common myths regarding need tor adjustment dispelled by the Newly Released poll data:

1. The earlier exit poll numbers oversampled women.

Wrong. The 7:30 p.m. exit poll numbers consisted of 54% women and 46% men. The final exit poll numbers included the exact same percentages.

2. The earlier exit poll numbers oversampled minorities.

Wrong. The 7:30 p.m. exit poll numbers consisted of 11% blacks and 9% hispanics. The final exit poll numbers included 11% blacks and 8% hispanics.

3. The earlier exit poll numbers oversampled democrats (i.e., republicans voted later in the day).

Wrong. The 7:30 p.m. exit poll numbers consisted of 38% democrats, the final exit poll numbers consisted of 37%.

4. The earlier exit poll numbers undersampled rural voters.

Wrong. The 7:30 p.m. exit poll numbers consisted of 16% rural voters, same as the final exit poll numbers.

Newly Released Exit polls also show Kerry won in all major groups of voters except in the South

62. What MSM's alteration of the Exit Polls did to America's & MM's fighting..
...spirit:

See post of Michael Moore's recent letter on Ohio/Jan. 6, at:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

...where many DUers are lamenting Moore's two month silence on fraudulent election. Then...

------------

...imagine if Michael Moore had NOT been emotionally destroyed--as so many were--by the alteration of the Exit Polls (which showed a Kerry win) on Election night, thinking that all our passion and hard work went for nothing.

Imagine if he and others had known from the beginning that the Exit Polls said Kerry won.

In Germany, Canada, the Ukraine and the rest of the free world, the official results and the Exit Polls are kept separate. If the Exit Polls are different from the official results, suspicion of fraud is aroused, and recounts and audits are instituted.

Not here. Even with the US testing out a controversial new election system-manufactured by Bush "Pioneers," with the source code that tabulates all our votes held by them as secret, proprietary information, and with no paper trail in a third of the country--no one thought it necessary to provide a fraud check of this system, as is routinely done in other countries.

So, as the "official results" from the Republican controlled central vote tabulators came in to the networks, on Election day--fed by AP--the Exit Polls, which showed a Kerry win, were ADJUSTED to match the "official results," making it appear that Bush won both the Exit Polls and the "official results."

In the Ukraine, they rioted over the discrepancy between the Exit Polls and the "official results"--and held a new election!

In the US, the emotional devastation of all those Kerry voters and supporters on Election night, thinking Bush won and there was no hope, changed the outcome here--no riots, no mass protests, no calls for immediate investigations and a re-vote. The BushCons won--once more--with an ILLUSION.

This makes me so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o sad!

It also makes me very, very, ve-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ry angry!

The TV networks.
AP.
Mitofsky (the Pollster).
And the untouchables, Bush and the BushCons.

These are the culprits. And since Bush and the BushCons are untouchable (unless the Democrats take them on), we must target this media list, and our goal should be justice, not reform.

They robbed us of a revolution. They gave us Bush, Part II, fascism in America.

Take no prisoners!

(Note: Mitofsky has his excuses for giving us polluted Exit Polls. None hold up. They do it differently everywhere else. He knows that. He knows why. And he and the networks damn well knew that this new election system was as insecure, hackable and fraud prone as it could be. The networks kept THIS information from the American people as well.)

(Note2: The Democratic leadership is guilty of a failure of leadership, it's true--on the election system and on the handling of the Exit Poll. Why did they permit BushCons to gain control of the voting system? When Tom Delay blockaded them on election transparency, why didn't they scream bloody murder--and warn the voters during the campaign? And, finally, KNOWING how fraud prone this election system was, why didn't they conduct their OWN Exit Poll? I don't think they're suicidal, exactly. I think they're inattentive, corrupt, collusive and live in a bubble of privilege. So I don't think THEY should be on this particular target list (those who are actively destroying our democracy)--or if so, put them way down on the list. They have very little power in BushCon America, and they don't use it well.)

43. Or how everything inside the hole is exactly-opposite from what it appears
i.e., "Clean Air Initiative," "Democracy Plaza,"
"Compassionate Conservative," "Mandate," "Man of the Year"...

or better yet "Freedom of the Press," "Fair-and-Balanced," and "The Most Trusted Name in News."

If you are TRULY from MSM, and not just a Freeper or a Spook, then have the balls to do what you were trained to do...which is sniff out the Truth, and report it unabashed. I've often thought that todays MSM reporters are a little like pure-bred hunting dogs, which are born and bred, and "live" to hunt down a good story...but somewhere along the line they get "bought" by a conglomerate news network that neuter all their investigative instincts...especially with regard to the Truth... and especially with the regard to those in governmental power, who now indirectly own most of MSM. Get through that tangled web, and you'll find your way out of the rabbit hole...to the Light.

How sad it must be to not be able to do what you were trained to do, and what at one time you must've been drawn to, and were passionate about for all its possibilities.

72. Good -- except for the fact that I think you give him way too much
credit.

I no longer believe that today's "journalists" are all that interested in either the truth or tracking down a good story. I think they're in it for some other reason -- glamour, perhaps, or just seeing their name in print or their mug on the teevee.

They're worthless (with extremely few exceptions) AND this opening post, whether on the level or not (that is, by a "real" MSM person), pretty well demonstrates and exemplifies all that's wrong with the profession:

* arrogant
* lazy (you tell ME)
* cryptic -- raises more questions than it answers
* teasing and poor respect for either us or the profession OR the proper role of journalism and the media in our society
* poor grammer/diction (misuse of MSM -- the poster can be "part of the MSM" or a member of same, or a journalist or reporter or whatever, but he is NOT and cannot be "THE MSM")

ALL of which points out a massive lack of understanding of what's going on and what should be going on with MSM, jorunalism, democracy, etc., etc., etc.

I'm sick of the lot of them. Take this guy out and put him out of his misery.

90. Or 're-train' him to do for what he was intended...when hopefully he went
to journalism school.

While I agree some (primarily news anchors) are a little too focused more on their image in the camera, there is still something about the field of journalism that attracts a certain type of person who IS curious, and well-read, and has a keen hunger for uncovering a story. I think a lot have been 'censored' into obscurity lately, and feel powerless to their employers and the need for their almighty paychecks.

But I suspect the urge to report a good story has NOT been bred out of them. Like riding a bike, it'll come back to them...given the chance. We must give them courage to safely stand up to their employers in large enough numbers that the Truth is finally allowed to come out.

In short, this "dog may not be 'hunting' now," but that doesn't mean it can't be re-trained to do what it was bred to do in the first place!

22. "Questions about voting discrepancies continue to mount."
"University professors and others say the totals from the election just don't add up.

"For example, one precinct in Ohio, the state that put President Bush over the top, gave the president almost 4,000 more votes than there are voters.

"There are also questions about the accuracy and reliability of the machines used in many parts of the country in this election. So far, efforts to examine the machines, or their software, have been rebuffed by both the voting machine companies, and state officials.

"In Ohio, the official in charge of elections, Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, is also the state chairman of the committee to re-elect President Bush. He has not offered any comment, and also has refused to answer questions submitted to him by a congressional investigative committee.

"We'll have more on this story as it develops."

29. MSM? So By Definition - you're a moron. But here's some help.
You know splat, it doesn't take a lot of brains to read for five minutes and learn enough to understand that the election of 2004 was stolen, and is, as Jesse Jackson has said, the most important civil rights issue since Selma.

Where have you been?

I actually think you're a clown pretending to be something else, but just to humor you, read the following

http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/pdfs/Mitofsky4zonedata /

You'll need to do a little real journalistic work here - a task foreign to the MSM if you really are a member - to figure out that the three crucial files to look at are

US2004G_3737_PRESO4_NONE_V_DATA.PDF - Mitofsky exit poll from 3:59.05 PM - election day 11/2/04

US2004_3798_PRES04_NONE_V_DATA.PDF - Mitofsky exit poll from 7:33.46 PM - election day 11/2/04

US2004_3970_PRES04_NONE_H_DATA.PDF - 1.24.53 PM - Mitofsky exit poll from NEXT DAY 11.3.04 (the 'contaminated' poll)

Look these over carefully. Note details. There are probably many details which will escape your attention, but which have been commented upon extensively in this forum.

Then, if your attention span can handle it, take a look at

http://www.appliedresearch.us/sf/epdiscrep.htm

where Professor Steve Freeman takes those numbers apart, and tells you what any person in the Ukraine already knows: the Mitofsky exit polls are an X-ray of election fraud, at wide variance with the "official" results, and give the lie to the legitimacy of the 2004 presidential election. Freeman actually has a new, second article on his website, also worth your attention if you have any attention left, where he blows huge holes in all the strawman bs arguments the MSM has offered to "explain" the discrepancy in their exit polls - which they still refuse to release, let alone explain.

Reading these few documents should answer all your questions.

Or I'll thumbnail it for you: the election was stolen by a bunch of fascist thug bullies who think they can hijack the American public into going along with a tyranny of their own design.

That's not going to happen. We'll be in the streets by the millions just like the Ukrainians as soon as the 60 million+ Kerry voters realize that the American democratic system was treasonously hijacked by a bunch of Texas thugs whose only real interest is raping the planet for oil.

Peace -

but never give up the struggle -

Che

30. You're MSM? And proud of it?
In particular, cable television is to "news" what WWE is to sports. Call it "News Entertainment".

Bad analogy. Unfair to the WWE. I know a couple wrestlers. They actually work for a living, and take risks to do so. (Fantastic stunt men.)

The issue of election fraud has brought together people, resources and grass roots networks via the internet like never before. We have no corporate structure and can respond and adapt quickly to changing needs. We are not a power that you need to fear but an evolving model of communication that is by the people for the people. You have the opportunity to join us or be left behind in this movement. This movement is focused on protecting the two most powerful tools that we the people have. Our vote and how we spend our $. If this point is not clear let me restate it: Our vote and how we spend our $.

And hey... I liked this message so much that I just did an international media blitz with it. Thanks for the idea!

If you are "MSM" you should be able to answer these questions:

Why are you not releasing the raw data of the exit polls as requested by Representative John Conyers?

Was the media given direct access to vote counting machine data on election night?

Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 05:27 AM by roenyc
write a scathing article on it. calling DU members awful nut jobs.

what they should be doing is reporting all the news that is happening. but that cant because their parent company will not let them.

so we get all hurricane all the time while havoc is occurring in Iraq and an election is going on here and an investigation into torture in Abu Ghraib should be first priority. but hey jeb and bro are handing out water!

then there is Scot and now there is the tsunami. hours and hours of both. next will be mike Jackson. hmmmm, bet you guys cant wait.

Well perhaps Fox viewers are happy with their propaganda. not to bright and like to be spoon fed. but the rest of us stopped watching CNN and most of MSNBC because we dont care about dumb news. we want investigative reporting of the Dan Rather days that i can still remember. when the news meant something.

when it was not bias to the point of tilting my TV to the right.

You and your owners have turned our News into Orwellian news night. its almost frightening. and yes i guess most of this country is too stupid to realize it.

i suggest if you really care you should read 1984 and also see the Indy film "Orwell rolls over in his grave" it describes the problem with news today very well. its not just FOX its all of you.

and i really wish you would all try to keep your opinions to yourself and just report the news. seems to me some of you have a very hard time doing that. must wear your party loyalty on your sleeve. or call anyone who has a thought against the conservative party a conspiracy theorist.

this is how i see the msn.

edit for spelling.

50. Best shot MSM? Are we discussing your Treasonous behavior
By not reporting the news, and spoon feeding us for years what we are supposed to hear? After all, as the Fourth Estate you have the sacred trust of protecting the American people from the avarice of corrupt government. The term In-bedded during the Iraq War was part of the euphemisms well known by this Sociopath Administration. In bed with. Here I am, just little old me, knowing with a little research that there were no WMDs, and you couldn't come to that conclusion yourself?
Did you know that in 1995, Hussein Kamel, Saddam's son-in-law who defected from Iraq gave a deposition that stated that all the weapons were disposed of (right after the lst Gulf War), and that Iraq never started a nuclear weapons program. Well you might have known, but you weren't telling........ ( http://middleeastreference.org.uk/kamel.html )

Why did you MSM sell us the "official story" of 9/11, when scrutinized reads as the conspiracy theory? Why haven't you screamed from the rooftops that NY wasn't only victimized by the attacks of 9/11, but then victimized by the Sociopath when he told NYers living and working by the WTC that it was safe to go back there a week later? The WH was found to have changed the wording of the EPA report, and there was no proof that it was safe at all. There are now thousands of NYers, and don't laugh, their pets, suffering from respiratory disease. Asthma amongst children in Chinatown has increased Dramatically. Yet, hardly a whisper about this........

Or do you wish to discuss the case of election fraud? Where millions of voters were once again lost their right to vote. No, it wasn't only Ohio, or Florida, or New Mexico. It was across the board. Look at the exit polls throughout the country, and if you, the MSM had the cojones to examine all the states that used some sort of electronic voting, I am sure you would have uncovered the largest scandal in the history of our country. I even believe that in Reality, Texas was very close, and might have gone to Kerry. Didn't CBS have a tough time of it for a while calling it.

Speaking of calling it. What was the BS about Rove getting on the phone with you on election night, asking you to hold off calling the winners??? The BBC reported it ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/3987237.stm ) but where oh where were you? Oh yes, in bed.....

So many of us have cried out for a Woodward and Bernstein, and all we get is Propaganda from you, the child of corporate conglomerates that have a financial stake in the downfall of our nation.

So here we are on the precipice. If one senator doesn't have the courage to stand up on Thursday, our country is gone. You see, everything is in place for a fascist government, and if this election isn't overturned then, the last nail in the coffin will be in place.

I only have one quibble:

So here we are on the precipice. If one senator doesn't have the courage to stand up on Thursday, our country is gone. You see, everything is in place for a fascist government, and if this election isn't overturned then, the last nail in the coffin will be in place.

We already have a fascist govt; and there'll BE no overturning of this election, even if one or more Senators do stand up. If the election fraud isn't adequately exposed, we'll completely lose any and all ability to vote anyone in or out of office, forever or until the next American Revolution, whichever comes first.

49. here you go MSM!!
Here are excerpts from a summary email I sent recently to my friends that are not aware of all the intricacies of this issue. If the links are broken, you can cut and pasted them into your browser (they are the correct addresses)--I just cut and past from my email log and I don't have time to retest them now with them now--got 3 kids I need to get dressed and get to school! BTW, I reference the NJ Senators b/c that is where I live but I was encouraging people to contact everyone.

<snip>
I do not believe we had a fair and honest election on Nov. 2.

<snip>
This email is intended to give you just the very basic and most credible (in my opinion) info on what has been going on since Kerry conceded and removed the media spotlight from the election. It then gives you three things you can do if, after looking at the evidence, you agree with me. Please take the time, if nothing else, to read through this email to educate yourself.

<snip>

Thanks MSM. Let's see some coverage now, please.

There has been an awful lot going on that you may or may not know about. For instance:

Did you know that, prior to the election, Jimmy Carter said (speaking specifically of FL) that we do not meet the minimum requirements for a fair election by the basic standards they used monitoring elections in third world countries?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A52800-20...

Did you know that there have been a number of important statistical studies (by credible academics, statisticians, and others), analyzing the relationship between the exit polls and election result?. Here's just three:

Steven F. Freeman, PhD, The Unexplained Exit Poll Discrepancy http://center.grad.upenn.edu/center/get.cgi?item=exitpo...

(Main Point: There was a significant discrepancy between exit polls and the vote count in the 3 most critical states: OH, FL, and PA. The tallied results were each outside the 95% confidence interval as predicted by exit polls. The chances of that happening in all 3 states is, very conservatively, 662,000 to 1 and nearly impossible to be due to random chance or error)

Jonathan Simon, J.D. 47 Exit Poll Analysis Confirms Swing Anomaly:
http://www.scoop.co.nz/mason/stories/HL0411/S00142.htm

(Main point: In the 12 key swing states, there was an unexplained swing of 5% consistently favoring Bush, nearly twice the shift as that in the "safe"states, despite the fact that the avg. sample size in these states was twice as big and, therefore, should have been even more accurate)

Jonathan Simon, J.D, & Ron Baiman, PhD,The 2004 Election:Who won the Popular Vote? http://freepress.org/images/departments/PopularVotePape...

(Main point: There is a substantial discrepancy between the national exit polls and popular vote, well outside the margin of error and big enough to have determined the outcome of the election. Analysis shows this cannot reasonably be accounted for as the result of random error or chance, and there is no evidence that it is a result of problems with the exit polls. The analysis shows a strong likelihood that in a free and fair election, Kerry would have won the popular vote and the electoral vote)

Mind you, exit polls are not just for the Ukraine! There is a reason they are the basis of monitoring elections all across the world.

Did you know that ES&S and Diebold together are responsible for the integrity and processing of around 80% of United States election voting. Between them, these two companies alone provide voter registration, printing of ballots, the programming of the voting machines, the counting and tabulation of the votes, and the final reporting of the results for over 150 million Americans. Did you know that the owner of Diebold and VP of ES&S are brothers and that 5 convicted felons (including one convicted of computer fraud) are in management positions at these companies? Did you know that the CEO of Diebold is the top level of Bush fundraisers and has expressed his full commitment to delivering Ohio's electoral votes to Bush?

(for a good summary, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_U.S._Election_controv... )

Did you know that there were more than 38,000 reports of election problems on Nov. 3 ranging from minor errors to direct voter intimidation, mishandled absentee and provisional ballots, malfunctioning or inaccurate machines and/or apparent hacking and vote tampering. http://www.voteprotect.org
Did you know that the allegations are serious enough and the concerns real enough that Representative John Conyers (MI), ranking Democrat of the House Judiciary Committee, has contacted two forums by which he has begun documenting the massive voter suppression of minorities that took place in Ohio as well as evidence of illegal acts by key election officials and possible election fraud/tampering? The affidavits and testimony they have collected has to be read to be believed. There were many, many problems and many, many questionable practices.

Dec. 8th forum: http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/voteforum.html
Dec. 13th forum in Ohio: http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/voteforum2.htm...
For text of Conyers' letters to Ohio election officials and the company (Triad) that makes the central vote tabulators: http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats /
Graphical analysis/summary voter suppression in Ohio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_U.S._Election_voting_...

Did you know that on the basis of the information he has collected, he and several representatives are planning to challenge the seating of the Ohio electors this Wed. Jan. 6th? There are also several very important lawsuits pending in regard to what happened.
MSNBC, Keith Olberman, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240 / (Dec. 20th entry, after coverage of the tsunami)

If one single Senator joins in challenging the vote on Jan. 6, we will have a very different scenario that what we saw at the opening of Fahrenheit 9/11 (remember when not one Senator would join the challenge that disenfranchised thousands and thousands of voters?)?
And, finally, did you know that Senators Corzine and Lautenberg, are two of the 29 Senators who are seriously looking at the evidence of problems and are possible candidates to stand up on Jan. 6th.?
Well, now you do.

<snip>
So what to do? 1. Please look over the links (one, some, all, whatever).
2. Decide what you think.
3. If you agree, contact Corzine and Lautenberg (or your Senators if you live elsewhere) and simply ask them to stand with John Conyers on January 6th.

Again, take the time to call/email/fax. Please. Your democracy will thank you.

represent the interests of the media barons. The time-honored wall between advertising and editorial content was torn down to make room for...more advertising!

You are the Corporate Media. Your work is the effluvium filtered through the financial interests of the web of owners who not only don't place any value in the sacred trust of the fourth estate, they actively eschew it because of its possible interference with shareholder return.

And above, when I mentioned the story of the horse getting pulled out of the septic tank? True story. Ran the same day I saw my ABC affiliate's cameras at a voter rally at Barbara Boxer's office.

They went with the horse.

82. I'm "mainstream media," too, and flabbergasted by this thread
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 11:25 AM by scoopmeister
Since Nov. 3, there've been literally thousands of posts on DU about how to get the mainstream media to cover election fraud, and when someone comes here and, in a kind way, asks for your help and input...people are lining up to insult him (or her). Those people who flamed him should be ashamed of themselves.

Look, if you hate the mainstream media, that's fine -- as a group we've given people plenty of reason to hate us. But if that's the case, don't at the same time whine about the MSM not covering the issue. If that's really what you want, you won't get it by insulting people or being rude. That's so obvious, one could only conclude you really DON'T want MSM coverage.

Also, only a handful of people have seriously tried to answer his question. Don't you think any MSM reading this thread (and some of us read DU -- not many, but some) would see lots of insults and few facts and decide there must be nothing to the story?

I happen to do think there's something to it. I've written one story about Ohio for my publication and am developing a story on voter intimidation, etc., in my home state, a battleground state that Kerry won anyway. But at the same time, if you go back and read this thread, you can almost understand why MSM if mostly put off by the whole thing right now.

83. Put off?
No, I can't understand why they don't do their job. And to use a thread that calls them out about it as a justification for ignoring voter suppression, indimidation and fraud? That just doesn't fly with me.

85. But that isn't the point of this thread
If you want to start a thread slamming the MSM, that's fine. But this was a MSM member seeking guidance on how NOT to ignore voter suppression, etc. Did you give that?

I directed him/her to a very comprehensive work on the problems in Ohio. But every "slam" I've seen here is dead-on...well, maybe not the one about pee'ing in the cereal. ;)

87. Scoop: thanks for your response. I think that the way the original
post was worded, it was open to two interpretations: give me your best evidence/story line, or tell me what you really think about our work.

My first post in this thread was intended to do the former. Please read it if you have not.

And at the same time, you recognize the anger people feel in having been let down by the MSM.

I hope that you will, without taking personal exception to the invective (which was not meant personally), be able to glean some positive insights from this thread as well.

Thanks, and :hi:

89. Absolutely, Bleever
Clearly the exit polls are the most suggestive evidence of any serious fraud right now -- both the MSM and non-MSM need to push for transparency in those nos., and hopefully more leads will follow.

88. scoopmeister keep at it....
there are those of use who still respect the MSM and what they CAN do. Keep at it, we need you, and you are right to call out those who complain about lack of coverage and then piss on those who give them a chance to speak out.

93. "tried to answer his question" refering to the OP? WHAT QUESTION?
"I'm MSM. Give me your best shot, n/t"

there's no question there.

"asks for your help and input"?

nope.

It's like the first reply says:
"Care to be more specific?"

101. The reason the corporate media is "put off" is because they are complicit.
Raw exit poll data. Where is it? The MSM has it. They won't release it.

91. my definition of MSM:
Those media outlets where the vast majority of people get the bulk of their information (about politics, about what's going on in the world, culture etc).

The MSM being a corporatist propaganda machine doesn't change the fact that a large majority of people get most of their information there.

So we do have MSM, it's just not independent.

81. Giggles - MSM, America's everlasting embarrasment
because they can only do the easy, the simple and for the lowest common denominator! Oh and in print if they say it only once then wow we have done a stupendous job - lets self congratualte each other on how responsible we are.

Become transparent about biases, accuracy, editorial decisions and the amount of idiotic punditry allowed. That was just the appetizer. The MSM still sits at the kiddie table! giggles...

95. If you ARE 'MSM,' then get your butt & cameras over to Congress on Jan 6
and cover the Contesting of the Electoral Vote, and what appears will be a Filibuster there. We will be making Constitutional history, so I think it should rank above 'horse caught in septic tank' story...at least for one night.

And oh...no more "NEW & IMPROVED" Osama Bin Laden tapes on Jan. 6, okay? We're on to you guys! Everytime there's some REAL news, you hide it behind a 3-year old OBL tape, which you claim is "just in."

Thank you very much!

Thanks, Zidzi, Guess I'm out of the cupboard now. (um, I'm not only my day job.)

A lot of good people work in MSM, people who want to find impeccable evidence and tell the truth with it.

If senators participate today, there is a story there, if they make it one. It will all come out. Reality is funny that way.

Were straight-ticket Dem votes recorded as no vote for president? I think I read that, but is it true? Does anybody have the code that proves that (could Cognress subpoena it?), or is it just a nice hypothesis to explain 98,000 blank votes for president as a result of several other possiblities (only some of which involve voting machines.)

As for the many responses to my impulsive challenge, nobody did any damage in this thread. I'm used to you guys. But yeah, in a perfect world, the goddess of journalism would have served me the story, fully formed, leading with the smoking gun. Dream on, splat.

Thanks to everybody who filtered what's out there and offered links of substance. Primary sources rule. Evidence is nailed. Woodward and Bernstein had Deep Throat; without a DT as a guide, or primary sources, the story may not have progressed.

It's easier to link to sites that aren't hyperventilating.

I didn't realize the wording of that brief subject line could be taken as a "Hit me!"sign. My bad. (Like anybody needs more of that?)

Go with this grassroots journalism. This is great. Find the primary sources and serve 'em up. We in MSM just have the mikes and amplifiers. Your discoveries will get into the buzz, maybe more slowly than you would like, but that's just part of journalism conventions: voting stories are advanced by events such as hearings, trials, whistleblowers, evidence and deer-in-the-headlights screw-ups.

Focus your efforts on these Congresspeople. Their actions are the imperatives of MSM coverage. When people rally wearing orange, links will be made which may or may not be relevant.

I can't speak for the superstars, the wiser-than-thou or the blow-dried of the world, but if everybody else does their job, we'll get to the truth eventually.

Zidzi, back to the normal hanging out.

100. Where is the F**king Exit Poll Data?
The fact that 2 months after the election the Corporate Media refuses to release this data claiming "more analysis is needed" is total stinking bullshit. Prima Facie evidence of criminal complicity in this crime against our democracy. A few good journalists are not enough to hide the overwhelming stench.
