NOTHING WENT WRONG IN FLORIDA
That's official in the MSM with this...

3.9-million votes, 63 challenges

Talk of thousands of contested votes in the presidential election was all wrong. The dreaded vote war never came.

By DAVID KARP, Times Staff Writer
Published December 24, 2004

Before the election, headlines warned about impending gridlock:

Thousands of voters would be challenged at the polls by an army of Republican and Democratic lawyers.

But on Election Day, it didn't happen.

Indeed, officials for Florida's election supervisors say they have records of only 63 challenges in the state.

That's out of about 3.9-million votes cast for president.

Miami-Dade and Broward, two of the largest Democratic counties, saw the most challenges. But there weren't many. Miami-Dade had 25 challenges, and Broward had 16. Hillsborough had nine challenges, and Pinellas had six.

Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties had none....

How do you counter that?

Oh, yes there's Bev.

2. Tactic deemed too dangerous in Florida.
Typical MSM spin there.

Alternative spin (aka more like the truth) could be:

- having realised that they were about to lose the election, big, and,
- since Palast/BBC exposed in advance the 'caging-list' scam and associated partisan (discriminating against blacks/ethnic minorities) disenfranchisement (voter-supression) tactic designed for Florida
- so that, if this tactic had been employed, there would be an almost inevitable (and very clear) recourse to a legal challenge on these grounds,
- the order was given to GOP ops in Florida (by Rove & Mehlman, one assumes) to not employ that tactic, and instead
- rely mainly on the rather more difficult-to-prove electronic tally fix (that could have been directed in a quite hands-on way from that dining room in the White House - see pic).

13. Yeah, I should have made clear
- rely mainly on the rather more difficult-to-prove electronic tally fix
- plus the more traditional methods of targeted disenfranchisement.

7. There was an article a few days ago
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 08:56 AM by Goldeneye
The GOP called off the challengers a few days before the election, because they said something like it was unneccessary.

This is weird/bad in two ways. It means they already had some other plans for Florida. It also is weird because if there were so many people that shouldn't have been voting and needed to be challenged, wasn't it kind of unpatriotic on the GOPs part to just let them vote? How dare they let all those "criminals" vote?

here's the AP story

10. Yeh sure nothing went wrong in the Banana Republic???
that is why Castor recieved more votes than Kerry even though everyone was so charged up for this election. Such bullshit, also when you take into count that all of the counties that mean something had off the charts new registrations for Dems and Indy's and Kerry still lost by over 3 million - yep nothing wrong here just move along.

Also when you take into account I met and know several people here in Florida who voted for fuckface last time and then voted for Kerry this time and i have not heard of one instance where someone voted for Gore and now voted for fuckface.

So let me get this straight- you have the biggest turn out ever for voting in the state that everyone who felt cheated went out and voted.
You have the loosing Dem Senator getting more votes than Kerry? Yep we sure care a lot more about the Senatorial race than the president. Come on!!! You have off the charts registrations for Dems and Indy's which last time I checked usually vote liberal. Also take into the fact of all of the people who switched from last election to this one.

Anyone who thinks Florida went OK - needs to have their head examined.

From Angry Floridian from 2000 and 2004

Please give me some concrete eveidence so I'll shut up, but since this whole thing Stinks - I think I'll keep on talking

11. This is talking about Repub challanges; widespread fraud is documented
Florida had many thousands of problems reported on the voteprotect.org
hotline EIRS incidents report system and on the votersunite.org system. More than any election in history.
The case reports document widespread voter suppression of minorities in big counties with the most minorities, and widespread vote machine fraud in the big touchscreen counties.
