I think the Labour is in for a really rough ride. Iraq will now become a bigger mess, and wars will expand in the ME which will cause economic and military problems for Europe. (I think Bush needs to hold Europe down, economically, so that he can destroy the US economy without having to worry about European competition).

I think Chávez is not going to have an easy four years.

I think both of them have been preparing for this though. Especially Chávez, who has been buying up military equipment. Fortunately, for him, he has some oil money so he doesn't have to slow down school and hospital construction too much. But it would have been nice if they could have used that money for other things.

Venezuela is making $50 a barrel largely due to the instability in the middle east. The very same barrel of oil that they were selling for $35 last year. Pure Profit.
