The BFEE will fall someday, as all corrupt empires must! I may not see it, but perhaps my kids will. Unfortunately, the Bushies have another four years to wreak havoc on the planet. My guess is over-reach. Meanwhile, I have a life to live.......

75. I was driving home and I heard that song
It was so timely.

I have a knot in my stomach and can't get sleep. In time the feeling of pain will subside. I refuse to even sit in a room with cable news channels though. I can't stand hearing them.

No crying yet...and I seriously do doubt I'll cry for this...nevertheless it is devastating.

I love my country. I love my identity as an American. George Bush has made that a stained and shameful thing.

The Republicans have ALL the power now. They are the only ones who can stop him.

I would be entertained if my heart wasn't sick and broken. And if I didn't realize that Bush's economy destroys my future.

28. Crying? No. More determined than ever? YES!!!

This country has made it through over 200 years, through slavery, opression, sexual discrimination, civil war, two world wars, a couple dozen regional wars, and many other trials and hardships. And we're still here.

Yes, this is a dark chapter in the history of America, but it is not the end of the story.

32. It has been a rough day here...
I'm beginning to think that taking the day off and spending it alone may have been a bad idea. I've tried to go outside and be active to get my mind off things but thinking of the future, both near and far, has brought me to tears too many times and the day is only half over. I guess this is all part of the heartbreak but to look at these two men...this election was such a no-brainer. You can never understimate the lack of the intellect of the masses. I am hopeful that these feelings of loss will transfer to a reinvigorating energy to change but right now I don't know how I can possibly get out of bed tomorrow and go to work.

Peace and thanks to all here who have created a environment were I don't feel entirely alone or helpless.

50. amen...
my mom started crying when kerry was almost finished, she was yelling at him to start with saying they weren't going to bridge the divide, etc, (I agree) and then the tears came.

I'm angry, more at bush than kerry, of course. we deserve better, I think there was fraud, I don't care what the media says.

this election DIDN'T get won because of bush's policies on jobs, environment, healthcare, social security, medicare, oh no...., it was won because those "damn faggots" want to have their marriages and by "god" we can't have that in amerikkka!

facists bastards. God in heaven help us through this suffering under these nazi sons of bitches. I think some bad shits about to happen...

57. Not upset - don't know why - was devastated in 2000 with Gore.
Somehow, all though I like and respect and was very much a Kerry supporter (though not in the primary) and I do think Kerry ran a better campaign than Gore, I never emotionally connected to Kerry or his campaign.

Intellectually and in terms of the future of our country, I'm extremely dissappointed but emotionally completely unmoved in the result.

I'm sort of surprised because I was incredibly upset by the Gore situation in 2000. I think I became attached to Gore but not to Kerry.

I think Kerry ran a great campaign and actually performed much better, as a candidate, than I expected.

I'm dissappointed in Kerry's mention of unity in his concession. No unity. Obstruct. Obstruct. Obstruct.

76. I think the difference
between the two is that this was quick...Within a few hours of the results coming in, I could tell it was going badly.

OTOH, with Gore it went on for weeks and there was always hope that we could get the votes counted - proving that Gore was indeed the winner.

Still, I would say I invested more in this campaign. The post 9/11 US is a disturbing place. We got a preview with Iraq and the PATRIOT Act. Also the fact that the senate margin isn't even close disturbs me like hell.

that Kerry wasn't going to get to be our president and I haven't stopped. Bawled during the speech. I was upset with Gore but he had pulled out of Ohio early so I didn't put as much blood, sweat and tears into his campaign as I did Kerry's. He would have been the best President! My neighbor took her BC sign down early this morning I think so as to not rub it in...maybe we will be able to restore a friendship. Thanks DU! I'm tired of reading the threads that are bashing Kerry. It is misplaced anger. Put the blame on the stupid people in this country who don't educate themselves about anything. Kerry would have been a terrific president and one we could have been very, very proud of. Unfortunately, we're stuck with this idiot. I hope his miserable failure gets worse. 71. Who me? Cry?
A lake of tears? No, more like an ocean. I mostly cry over some of the posts I see here. I saw DancingBear's post about traveling from VA to Ohio and how far behind the work was because of this absence. I could so identify and understand that.

It's just too much for me when I see the dedication and the hope and sweat and tears we all put into this election and then to have it stolen once again (yes, I've been listening to Randi and I'm convinced).

I cry when I think about my students, whose future in technology will never happen because of outsourcing.

I cried when I saw the letter written by the Iraqis in Fallujah, pleading for help from the genocide we are performing there. I cry when I think of the soldiers who have been sent there to kill.

Thank God I did not have a class today and I only have one tomorrow. I really do not think I can hold it together through much more.

The only relief was when a friend insisted we go out to lunch so we could commiserate and after venting for an hour and a half I did feel a little better. But the tears returned as soon as I heard clips of Kerry's concession speech and especially the part where he said he wanted to hug us all.

72. My eyes have been puffy all day
My freeper co-workers kept asking if I had a cold. Early in the morning I kept running to the ladies room to wipe my eyes. All the while they're yukking it up about bushco winning the election. They're just gloating non stop. They keep slapping me on the back and saying what a great day it is for "murican bidness". If I hear one more time that bushco got the most popular votes ever in a presidential election I think Ill vomit.
