Hey! Remember that scene in F 911?
The one at the beginning when the congressional black caucus members(god love every single one of them) were challenging the election results but they needed just one senator's signature to pursue it but didn't have one. Could we get one now? Obama? Are you listening?

21. Actually it's not over - at least not legally
I think that happens sometime in December when the electoral college votes.

6. The black caucus stood up. It was the Senate that lay down.

17. Help! I need fellow Dem's OPINIONS
I live in NC where the cities are liberal and counties are conservative. Poor blacks and poor whites are left behind in education. Is it possible, that Dems registered many new voters in places like here, all over the country, and those people were too uneducated to understand how to vote???? I spoke to many 1st timers who were VERY CONFUSED about not only the process but who they should vote for. They understood democratic...but if you vote straight Dem you still have to Vote for prez. Did they vote for Shrub because they don't even know who Kerry is?? Did they "Vote for The President" instead of the Candidate? I think that may be where all the votes went. Your opinions PLEEEEEZE

18. Your idea is realistic. It has happened before.
In 2000, their were a lot of "overvotes" disqualified in Florida because minority voters had selected Al Gore but had also written his name in the Write-In Candidate box. Apparently they thought they had to write in Gore's name as well as select him with the punch. I'm sure similar things happened this year too.

You can probably get data from your Secretary of State on the vote count. From that you could see how many ballots were disqualified in each precinct.

33. Very interesting theory indeed
I worked as a poll observer yesterday in NC.

The election officials kept talking about the high black turnout rate. I overheard two talking about the turnout and one said "Well you know they want a Democrat President" Many of them were saying it was the highest they have ever seen in the 10 years they have been doing this.

I did hear many voters say they were first time voters and requested assistance. Many of the black voters were illiterate, the officials had to read the ballots to them. As an observer I can say they did treat them fair and it appeared they tried to be helpful. Since I could not go to the voting booth I was unable to actually witness how they explained the voting process or ballot.

I heard one worker say that the voters kept saying: (use derogatory accent here) "I only want to vote for the president" so they were not interested in the rest of the ballot.

Despite the racial undertones of some of the comments, the workers did a good job of allowing people to vote. I did wonder how the voters would have been treated if I had not been there.

At the end of the day they admitted they were nervous about having an observer (they have never had one before and boy did they treat me me like I was important) and they were so releived that I was nice and friendly. I was even invited to attend church with a few of them. I guess they thought I was going to be there to cause trouble.

I mentioned Obama not just because he's the one black senator that might side with the CBC (but he shouldn't be our only option) but because he seems fearless and principled. Maybe there is someone that has learned the lessons of last election. Remember the attitude was then "What's the worst thing that could happen?" Now we know. Jeffords? Clinton? Kennedy? Anyone out of 100 people. Who voted against the patriot act? Maybe them.

10. i dont think they will challege this time.
unless we can uncover some strong proof of theft before the electors cast.
maybe then they would. Im supposing it would be symbolic. I dont know what the procedure is but I suspect that a minority of members wouldnt be able to affect the outcome.

Where were the Democratic Senators? Where was Kennedy or Wellstone? Why did not one of them sign? All it took was one. That really pissed me off.

Wellstone died TWO YEARS after the election. Almost two years after the Black members of Congress BEGGED any US Senator to help.

If neither candidate had gotten a majority of the electoral vote, the House would have just picked Bush.

29. Any Senator
and it doesn't matter if "it wouldn't do any good by then"

The point is to stand for something, and the something that needed to be stood for was the voting rights of blacks in Florida.
