Apparently I am a into incest because of who I happen to love!!!
Found this in The Age this morning:

From Steve Fielding:

''A bloke cannot marry his brother; it is not right,'' he said. ''A woman cannot marry their sister; it is not right. A bloke cannot marry a bloke because it is not right, and a female cannot marry a female because it is not right. I don't support this.''

Link: http://www.theage.com.au/national/fielding-likens-samesex-marriage-to-incest-20091126-juo3.html

Yes, my girlfriend is my sister, and that is why she is black and I am white, huh?

As for my real blood sister, well she is straight, married and with three kids.

And I guess my gay Uncle is planning on marrying the brother he never had.

This is just total bullshit. The majority of Australia would like to see civil unions for gay people, so why can't they give the majority what they want? No, they have to listen to the religious nutters in this fucked up country first.

1. In that case, it's WINcest!
Sorry, lame joke.

Forget what Steven Fielding says. He is a nasty prick with a bug up his ass about society in general and seeks to punish it in any way possible. It's funny, Family First like to claim they take the conservative side in social issues and the left side in economic issues, but the last 4 years have demonstrated (with Steven Fielding at least) that it's just about making as many people suffer as possible.

The real issue I have is with the Rudd government wanting to overturn it. I don't expect them to endorse the position, but the least they could do is just let the ACT be and not interfere. We shall wait and see what happens here - but I sincerely hope they do the right thing

I am a heterosexual, but I have made it quite clear that I refuse to marry until my gay brothers and sisters (in the general sense, not the literal :P) can too...

Are you looking to tie the knot soon? (assuming it stays legal?)

ps. I know the issue is civil unions, not marriage. I personally believe, legally speaking, all unions - both heterosexual and homosexual - should be labelled civil unions, and not marriages - considering that many are so hung up on that being a spiritual term - with separation of church and state and all...

2. Sorry I am late with my response...
...have had one hell of a weekend with the neighbours causing us a lot of problems, to the point I now have a broken finger, and we have a broken window (no I didn't put my fist thought a window. LOL I hit the neighbour after a beer bottle skimmed passed my head and broke our window). We live with the neighbours from hell. My partner and I are now looking to move house as soon as possible, because we have seriously had enough, and this weekend pushed us over the edge.

I lost hope with Rudd and the ALP when they helped pass the bullshit marriage laws when Coward was in charge. So it hasn't come as any sort of surprise to me with Rudd and the ACT marriage issues right now. He will overturn the laws and put hi9s belief in religion ahead of the populace of Australia.

Yes we are looking to tie the knot... We have children (my partners children) and I would like to secure their lives properly.

Well the whole marriage thing to me is, marriage is just a word which the Christians claim as their own and they can have it... Myself and my partner are Wiccans and we will be doing a Wiccan hand-fasting ceremony.

I take my hat off to you and would love to shake your hand mate... thank you for supporting the gay community as you are by refusing your own marriage rights until we have ours. That speaks volumes for us when heterosexual folks take a stand like that. Thank YOU!

3. Yuck, I am sick of ignorant bogans like that!
Their small mental capacities make them easily confused and angry at everything, thus why they take delight in making other people feel miserable. It's not that they are evil, it's just they're too stupid to do anything else. Don't worry, you can tak solace in the fact that they are evolutionarily weak and won't survive the species. (Evolution favours intelligence and sociability in humans)

And let me just say congratulations on your impending union. I hope you and her have a great life together!

4. Oh our neighbour is pure evil!
There are no other words which can truly describe this bitch, I tell ya. She has a mouth and everything that comes out of that mouth is one lie after another, now her mouth has gotten her into a lot of shit. Just recently I almost smashed her because she called my partner and piece of shit and a black sl_t (neither describe the person my partner is.)

But this past weekend was bad... my partner is a full blood Aboriginal from W.A. But not your regular joe blow... she is a university graduate who for a time worked for the Victoria police force before moving into modelling, theatre, movies and television. But because of her skin colour, everything bad associated with that falls at my partners feet. Including the one where they are all violent... so this past weekend our neighbour caused shit, then got a mob of white and black men and women together to take on my partner (the ex cop) myself (the ex secuity guard) my 19 year old niece, and two Aboriginal friends of ours... one of those friends comes from a rather large Aboriginal clan from these parts. But why she had at least 20 people hurling abuse at us and being violent etc, she hid inside her house. Why does she do this? Because she is married woman who fell in love with me and I rejected her because I was falling head over heals for the woman I am with now.

Thank you for the congrats. :)

5. frighteningly enough
Fielding represents the 'moderate' wing of Family First! Thanks once again to the ALP for thinking that a bunch of mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, homophobic, sexist, fundamentalist nutjobs were a better bet for their preferences than the Greens.
