Why do you suppose that is?

1. On the contrary.
I say we're more patriotic; however, If we're measuring Chauvinism and jingoism then I'd say that they're winning.

As far as being concerend with our vets: It's intrinsic to progressives/liberals to be concerned with tangibles rather than symbols.

2. once again, to quote Redd Fox ...
Who "we", white man?

There's more than one "we" in this world, and in this forum (yoohoo, this is the Canada Forum), the "we"/"they" ain't USAmerican Democrats/Republicans.

"We" be Canada/Canadians, here.

We seem to be less patriotic and yet more concerned for our vets ... than USAmericans, I believe was the unstated bit of the statement.

Of course, I'd still agree ;) -- I say we're more patriotic; however, If we're measuring Chauvinism and jingoism then I'd say that they're winning.
