I think I detect some spin in this article about Harper's recent adventure
Particularly in the headline...

PM Rescues Dozens of Stranded Canadians

Jul, 20 2006 - 10:00 PM

TORONTO/AM 640 TORONTO - Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Airbus has left Cyprus and is expected to arrive early tomorrow in Ottawa.

It's carrying about 100 Canadians who were evacuated from Lebanon.

The Prime Minister says he's impressed with the way evacuees have conducted themselves in trying times.

He says everyone has been calm throughout the ordeal. A ship carrying 261 Canadians arrived in Larnaca early this morning.

The federal government has commissioned Air Transat and Air Canada to fly other evacuees home.

(I take it "BN" stands for "Bullshit News"?)

2. They were "rescued" from a safe haven
It's like feeding a hungry person after they have just eaten. Or handing them a warm jacket after they have already come in from the cold.

3. And it was our esteemed PM who did it.
Single-handedly, without a doubt. I'm sure that's what the official photographer will demonstrate.

4. The Globe had a photo this morning
Shameless. They had a sidebar to the article claiming that the photographer had to be there so that this episode could be recorded for the National Archives. Shameless.
