Cubin rejects suggestsions she should return Delay contributions

By The Associated Press Friday, September 30, 2005

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) -- Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo., rejected a call from the Wyoming Democratic Party that she should return $22,520 in campaign contributions from a political action committee founded by former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who was indicted Wednesday on charges of violating Texas campaign finance laws.

In a statement Wednesday, Democratic Party spokesman Bill Luckett said Cubin should "take the high road" and return money she received from DeLay.

Cubin defended DeLay, calling him "a good and honest man" and accusing the prosecutor of running a partisan investigation.

"We need to allow the legal process to play out, and when it does I'm sure that he will be cleared of these partisan charges," she said.

Yeah, why don't you just keep that dirty money, Cubin. Hopefully the people of Wyoming will see you for the party-line crook that you are and get you ass out of DC (although I'm not holding my breath).

Dems: Cubin should return money

By JOAN BARRON

CHEYENNE -- The Wyoming Democratic Party Wednesday called on Republican U.S. Rep. Barbara Cubin to surrender the $22,520 she has received from Rep. Tom DeLay's political action committee.

DeLay, the U.S. House majority leader, was indicted by a Texas grand jury earlier Wednesday on a charge of conspiring to violate campaign contribution laws.

In a news release, the Wyoming Democratic Party suggested Cubin donate the contribution from DeLay to charity.

"Any money Barbara Cubin received from Tom DeLay's political action committee is tainted by his suspicious campaign finance activities and should have no place in Wyoming politics," said Wyoming Democratic Party Communications Director Bill Luckett. "Instead of using that money to further her political ambitions, Barbara Cubin should take the high road and give up those funds."

Barbara Cubin is eevil. once, she brought cookies for her fellow female representatives in washing DC. not a big deal, right? well, she distributed cookies cut in the shape of male genetalia...on the floor of the house of representatives. that's something you'd expect to see at a bachelorette party, not in the floor of the House.

sorry for the rant, but Barbara Cubin is a poor excuse for a politician. she's not my favorite person^.^
