I'm thinking of crossing party lines for the primary September 14.
Except for the Lieutenant Governor's race I can't think of any reason not to help select our opponents, (at least in my congressional district).

2. Milwaukee County residents should NOT do this
We have a very good chance of ousting the incompetent and right-wing David Clarke, the current sheriff who pretends to be a Democrat but consorts with the tea partiers. The Republicans of Milwaukee County who have crossed over before to vote for him will be busy supporting Walker or Neumann on the their own side of the ballot this time. Chris Moews is an experienced lieutenant in the homicide division of the the Milwaukee Police Department and he sounds like he really knows how to run a sheriff's department for the benefit of the county's residents. And he's running a heck of a campaign.

More on Chris Moews:

http://uppitywis.org/tags/chris-moews
From the Democratic consultant who helped Clarke win his first election, before he learned the truth; he sent out a blistering letter to Milwaukee County Dems not long ago.

http://milwaukeecourieronline.com/index.php/2010/08/21/how-to-improve-justice-in-milwaukee-county/
An article by Moews setting out his philosophy of drug and alcohol treatment and education for inmates so they won't offend again. "Sheriff Clarke has not promoted these programs: he has proposed cutting them. The Farm and Fish Hatchery, the Print Shop, and a variety of other programs at the prison would be on his chopping block already if it were not for the progressive leaders on the County Board. He even took the books out of the House of Corrections, as if reading was a threat to our community."

3. Yeah, the best time to use this option is if you live in an area where the Dems are

either safe (like Dane County) and there are no important primaries - or electing Democrats is completely hopeless anyway.

:hi:

5. Its one of the advantages of the way things are set up in Wisconsin
that we aren't tied to a party. I bet Republicans don't think twice about voting in a democratic primary.

7. You should carry conservative repellent when you go to the polling place...

...and Dirty Hippie Soap should make you feel clean again afterwards.

8. Those are the most
interesting races....

I can't think of anything better than getting the most bat-shit-crazy repubs to run against our folks...the contrast is too good to be true...

9. I've now been ordered to do that
F. James Sensenbrenner, your favorite congresscritter and mine (break for :sarcasm: ), called us today and told us to vote for "the conservative candidate" for governor: Scott Walker. I told him no, but of course he didn't listen (he never does).

12. I saw that ad
I am on this side of the river for business reasons and I do have to say that all the local ads are much tamer than the races in Minnesota this cycle. The Dayton/Emmer/Horner race for governor and Clark/Bachmann races are the dirtiest over the Mississippi and St Croix river.

14. I did it.
I voted Republican for the first (and hopefully last) time. I feel dirty and icky but I only voted in 2 races: Governor and Senate. I am in red red RED Waukesha County. This portion in a blog was what sealed the deal for me:

Ron Johnson is just so appalling that anytime a voter can cast a ballot against him it should not be wasted. If there is anyone that would pull Wisconsin and the nation backwards, it is Johnson. From immigration to gay marriage Johnson holds such horrible notions that it is imperative we do all we can to make sure he is not elected.

I love Russ Feingold too much to not have. Now he has to marry me.

15. Me too.
The more often I can vote directly against Johnson and Walker the better.
