Please tell me this toad has some opposition? Can't seem to dig this up all that easily (I do find stuff on Bryan Kennedy in 2004/2006 and the two headed professor attempt from 2008)...

2. A businessman named Todd Kolosso

He's from Menomonee Falls. He recently joined the Democratic Party, and seems to espouse the usual Democratic principles except for being pro-life (which stems from his being given up for adoption by his birth mother, and he feels he wouldn't exist if Roe v. Wade had been in effect). I haven't seen him yet, but some well-connected Democrats think he is okay. He has a campaign manager and is going to some events. He apparently is going to put some of his own money into the campaign. So we'll see what happens.

By the way, it's my opinion that Sensenbrenner will retire after next term, especially if redistricting isn't favorable.

Kolosso reports donations of $5,001 from individuals, most of that an in-kind donation of design work, plus $66,500 of his own money (listed as debt). He had $25,481 in cash on hand as of 12/31.
Sensenbrenner reports donations of $92,634 from individuals, plus $80,339 from PACs, and none of his own money. He had $427,512 in cash on hand.

3. It would be nice if some Republican would run

against Senseless, just to make him spend his money.

I think its nearly impossible to defeat incumbent reps in Wisconsin because of the way the districts are drawn. I expect that there will be several retirements in 2012: Dave Obey (D-7), James Sensenbrenner (R-5), and Tom Petri (R-6). I hope we have some good candidates preparing for to run in those Congressional Districts... it should be an exciting year.

Senator Kohl will very likely retire in 2012, and I'm going to project that Paul Ryan (R-1) and Steve Kagen (D-8) will run against each other for his seat.

But I think there are many other Democrats already salivating over the possibility of a Senate run.

As much as I love Steve (and I do! He was my congresscritter!), we need to have women in leadership positions across the state. Barbara Lawton comes to mind, or perhaps Tammy Baldwin.

I hate to say this about my home state, but we really don't do a great job of valuing women around here.

Brian Kennedy. I watched Sennsenbrenner and Kennedy debate. Brian Kennedy is sharp and quick and funny. Now I have not seen this businessman speak yet, so if you wouldn't mind being a bit more specific I would appreciate your input-thanks.
