4 Wis. women accused in lovers' quadrangle plot
Source: Associated Press

WAUSAU, Wis. — A married man who planned to rendezvous with one of his handful of lovers at an eastern Wisconsin motel instead found himself bound, blindfolded and assaulted by a group of women out for revenge, according to court documents.

Four women, including his wife, eventually showed up to humiliate the man, who ended up with his penis glued to his stomach in a bizarre plot to punish him for a lover's quadrangle gone bad, according to the documents filed in Calumet County.

Now it's the women who face punishment, perhaps six years in prison, and at least one said Monday the story has gotten twisted and she's embarrassed.

"I am disturbed. I am upset. I am having a hard time handling life; an emotional wreck," Wendy Sewell, 43, of Kaukauna, said in a telephone interview from her home. "I am ashamed."

Sewell, Therese Ziemann, 48, of Menasha, Michelle Belliveau, 43, of Neenah, and the man's wife are charged with being party to false imprisonment, a felony. Ziemann also is charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.

5. I worked with a guy who had three wives.
One day they got together and met him at the airport coming "home".

He was offered a choice.

He chose the Tahitian Flight Attendant and lived out his days on Rarotonga in a beach house.

24. but it was still her's to make
and to live with.
if these women didn't love him, they would not have made that option available to him.
is he a bastard? dunno, probably. But 3 women loved him so much that they were willing to accept the decision, or even to give him one.
there is that to consider.

8. Not to excuse what he did
which was undeniably wrong from a moral standpoint, but you can't do what these women did and then be surprised when you go to jail. Kidnapping and assault, even for revenge, are still crimes. And I think this showed enough forethought that the prosecutor will have a pretty solid case.

For instance, a man who kidnapped and abused his cheating wife wouldn't get any leniency, these women shouldn't either.

9. Why is Polygamy Morally Wrong? I am not a polygamist, but sure miss the idea of Liberty and Justice
for all. Our Federal Government should not be telling people who they can marry, nor how many wives or husbands, etcetera, he or she may have. America, land of the free? I do not see it.

...that they were in a polygamous relationship. They had a right to know, and to have the chance to agree (or not) to be a part of it.

22. Correct
that was the point I tried (and apparently didn't do a great job of) to make in my first post.

His "crime" was one of immorality; lying to his girlfriends. Theirs was an actual felony. His actions in no way justified or excused their actions.

11. I agree with polygamy being legal
and I may have misread the article, but I got the impression he was cheating on one or more of them and they weren't totally aware of the fact?

Having multiple wives/girlfriends is not immoral if they are all aware of it. Having multiple wives/girlfriends without telling them is, essentially lying.

BUt it isn't a crime and doesn't justify assault/kidnapping.

16. Polygamy = Greed
Which means less ladies available for single guys. Plus, which gender comes up with this polygamy idea most of the time?

Polyandry also exists (multiple husbands to one wife).

Besides it shouldn't be outlawed on the basis that it makes it harder for guys to hook up. Women (and men) should be free to make their own choices on the matter.

I'm in favor of letting individuals decide what is best for them so long as everyone is consenting and of age I don't really care. The other alternative is to let the government define marriage according to the majority opinion, and I've heard a few people have issues with that.

15. It's a book...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ethical_Slut

From Wiki:

The authors define the term slut as "a person of any gender who has the courage to lead life according to the radical proposition that sex is nice and pleasure is good for you." The term is reclaimed from its usual use as a pejorative and as a simple label for a promiscuous person. Instead, it is used to signify a person who is accepting of their enjoyment of sex and the pleasure of intimacy with others, and chooses to engage and accept these in an ethical and open way — rather than as cheating.

The Ethical Slut discusses how to live an active life with multiple concurrent sexual relationships in a fair and honest way. Discussion topics include how to deal with the practical difficulties and opportunities in finding and keeping partners, maintaining relationships with others, and strategies for personal growth.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-04-23/the-ethical-slut-returns/

"Newly updated, expanded, and blurbed by the likes of Margaret Cho and David Crosby, the book’s authors seek to help individuals and couples who “dream of freedom.” The Daily Beast spoke to Easton, a sex therapist outside San Francisco who “has been an ethical slut since 1969.”
