Rep. Suder accuses ex-girlfriend of theft, burglary

Gannett Central Wisconsin

ABBOTSFORD State Rep. Scott Suder, R-Abbotsford, has obtained a restraining order against a former live-in girlfriend he accused of stealing money and credit cards from him and later breaking into his home.

According to the complaint filed in Clark County Circuit court, Lisa Brabazon, 32, of Wausau had been living with Suder in his Abbotsford home since January.

In September, Suder discovered that Brabazon had accessed his credit cards and checking account without his permission and asked her to leave his home, according to court records.

The complaint alleged that Brabazon broke into Suders home on Sept. 27 and tried to steal a handgun from the residence.

I do own a handgun, but it was not in the house at the time, Suder told the Wausau Daily Herald this afternoon.

Suder also acknowledged he had been dating Brabazon but said he wanted to wait until the police report is finalized before he provides a formal explanation and comment. Suder was divorced in 2001 and is single.

2. LOL - Only a Puke would accuse someone of burglarizing their own home.
For crissakes, they lived together for the past nine months.

Is it just me or does anyone else think he doth protest too much? :freak:

Seems odd that he's breaking this news rather than the DA. :puffpiece:

I bet she's got the goods on him and he's just trying to threaten/discredit her before it hits the press.

Ex-girlfriend says legislator let her use money
Wausau Daily Herald

The former live-in girlfriend accused of stealing money from state Rep. Scott Suder and breaking into his Abbotsford home says the lawmaker had given her permission for months to use his checks and a bank card.

Lisa Brabazon, 32, of Wausau told the Wausau Daily Herald in a phone interview this morning that she was surprised when Suder kicked her out of his home in September and then accused her of theft. The Republican legislator made the accusation when he obtained a restraining order against Brabazon this week.

"Scott Suder had been giving me permission to write out those checks," she said in response to a news report in today's edition of the Daily Herald. "Those checks have been written out for over a year."

6. Gotta love politicians who shoot first
and let the press ask questions later. Maybe this time it will bite him in the backside.

7. It's got romance AND guns so
it should appeal to a broad audience. I thought Scott Suder advocated that sexual abstinence program. Maybe he and his girl friend just watched FOX television together.

8. When the word "bogus" comes up in connection with a crime report
...my favorite has to be John Jazwiec (CEO of RedPrairie Software), who reported a 'home invasion' (somewhere on Milwaukee's East Side), by a "...black man with a sawed-off shotgun."

Jazwiec alertly dealt with the dangerous intruder by being a gracious host, offering the stranger a beer. After the man left, taking only "a computer and an i-phone", Jazwiec refused to file a police report. Instead, he called a meeting of his neighbors to discuss a formal secession process, with the goal of declaring complete legal independence from the city of Milwaukee, and the formation of their own gated municipality, with its own privatized (but legally chartered) neighborhood constabulary.

Any East Side property owners whose buildings could be confused for Fort Sumter are hereby put on notice, to remain vigilant and keep the sand bags piled high, in the event of a surprise attack.

Joel McNally did a column on the story in this week's Shepherd:

http://www.shepherd-express.com/1editorialbody.lasso?-t...

(Or just go to http://www.shepherd-express.com and find the "Taking Liberties" byline, sort of in the middle of the left side of the home page.)

Personally, I think Jazwiec deserves more than just a little media recognition, for his public-spirited efforts. Some sort of prize, and/or public ceremony, is probably in order.

10. Jazwiec should be stuffed in a large bag...
and beaten by several large men wielding lead pipes.

He's a fucktard of the highest water, and he's clearly lying about this alleged crime. I fully agree with the Shepard Express that if he's filed a false police report, he should be prosecuted vigorously.

11. The Wausau paper has this article on their website
Not too much different than the last regarding the girlfriend - adds a few more details. Basically blends a bit of Scott's accusations with her defense. Like always, the press goes to print with half the details. What more do you suppose will come out in the next week?

12. Karma
Karma comes around quickly. When I was dating Scott I found a credit card he was using. The name on it was Scott F Soder. With the card were two receipts, showing that he had used the card that week at Blockbuster Video, and a resaurant in Madison. Earlier that year Scott had called me from Milwaukee at a biker's convention. He asked me to come down and join him at the event. He explained to me that I may encounter a perceived confusion while checking in though. He said that when he checked into the hotel, the person working was suprised that there was another Scott Suder already registered. Scott said that the hotel registered him as Scott Soder to prevent any confusion. Hmmmm, could be that Lisa beat Scott at his own game of deception, but I would guess otherwise.

17. The Plot thickens!!
Looks like Suder got the judge to issue a restraining order but there's a weird catch to it:

snippet:

He also ordered her to not use Suder's name or identification in any way or to use his financial accounts. Brabazon is not permitted to have a firearm or to disseminate any documents she may have which belong to Suder.

Documents?

snippet:

Suder said he had several personal checks used fraudulently, several credit cards were stolen and used without his permission and his e-mail accounts had been tampered with.

"I had assumed those had been hacked from an outside source," he said. "I know that she has met with a number of individuals and stated that she had that information."

http://www.marshfieldnewsherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...

So anything she tries to make public from his computer is stuff that was hacked, right?

See....there's a perfectly logical explanation for all of it... :sarcasm:

There's a link at the bottom of the page for comments, it's easy to set up an account and I sure would welcome a few new liberal posters. If you look at some of the threads we has an idiot that likes to post nasty lies to stir crap up. It's hard to answer that crap in short replies that people will read - just like the lies the republican party likes to stir up because Americans are too lazy to listen to the truth because it takes to long and requires the brain cells to fire up.

Edit: Whoops, I goddess40 I posted using my mom's link

19. Geez, why cough up money to hire a PI if it's a simple case of harassment?

A day earlier, he had served a letter to Brabazon asking his former live-in girlfriend to vacate his home, testified Michael Spang, a private detective hired by Suder.

Unless you've got something to hide.

Clearly she doesn't have a lawyer or this wouldn't have been tried by the most Republican judge in a 60 mile radius. My guess is there would be PR coming from her side, too and at the moment there's nothing. There's no way a good lawyer would let Suder dictate the discussion.

Maybe the Dems ought to come up with a legal defense fund. It might be worth it just to get what this woman knows into the public realm.

20. From the Record Review
The link will probably only work a few more days so I have posted the entire short piece.

Wednesday, October 24, 2007 http://www.centralwinews.com/recordreview/news4.html

Suder gets court order
Brabazon offended by assault remarks
Clark County Judge Jon Counsell granted Rep. Scott Suders request for a restraining order Monday.
Ex-girlfriend Lisa Brabazon, 32, Wausau, is also ordered not use Suders name or identification in any way, not to use his financial accounts, not to possess a firearm, and not to disseminate any documents of Suders she might have.
Suder filed the request after Brabazon, his former live-in girlfriend, admittedly broke into his home Sept. 27 to look for a handgun. It was not in the home at the time.
Refuting accustations
Brabazon contacted the The Record-Review last week to clarify some statements Suder made to the newspaper.
Ive been Scott Suders girlfriend for almost two years and all the sudden accusations are being made which are false, she said in a voicemail.
Brabazon went on to challenge Suders insinuation that she had not been assaulted. She said she was brutally sexually assaulted last summer which resulted in her arm being dislocated, a cut and hair pulled from her head, and a severe cut on her back.
She went on to say she was treated at St. Clares in Weston and visited by a Wausau detective in the hospital. She offered to provide hospital and police records and photographs of her injuries to back this up.
Brabazon said she was disgusted with Suders actions and did not know if it was him or his lawyers making the accusations.
This is very rude what hes doing, she said. Theres a game going on and I dont like it. I dont like how its being played.
This is very personal. It hurts deeply. This is wrong of him. This is just so wrong.
Brabazon did not return the newspapers follow-up phone calls this week.
