2. RFK, RFK, RFK, RFK, RFK,
What a speech ! If he had given this speech as keynote at the Dem convention we would be up by 25 points. He hit every point needed. When he talked about going abroad with his father and how loved we were then I cried and I wasn't the only one.

We didn't have his book but my daughter had the Sierra Club magazine with his article which he autographed.

Tom Harkin was fantastic too.

Looking forward to your write up tomorrow.

10. I saw RFK Saturday night in Apppleton
He rocked even though he was obviously tired from a long day. We need to get him a higher profile somehow. If the speech I heard last night was heard by anyone on the fence, the shrub wouldn't have a chance.

7. WOJB Radio broadcast it live; wouldn't doubt they recorded it
too. You could get hold of the station. Probly Eric Schubring would be the best contact person. I haven't looked but they must have a website.

God, I love that radio station, broadcasting from Reserve on the LCO Reservation

6. Got a great button there.
Nice size, which says " A Failure of Intelligence " around a picture of Bush pointing his finger and beside his head it says " There is no doubt in my mind"

Maybe this is not new, but I haven't seen it before.

11. I got a button too......
I wore my flatware knife and fork crossed pin, and when people would ask me what the significance of that pin was, I'd say it's my "eat the rich pin". Tom Harken loved it, but anyway, I found a pin that said eat the rich!!! I bought it and now I don't have to say what the flatware pin means!! I had a great time at Bob Fest also. It was great seeing almost everyone there wearing something political and all the cars were loaded with bumper stickers, it was just a great time. Double the size of last year, about 3000 people.

12. The newsletter i got today from FightingBob.com says over 4000 attended

<snip>
If you missed Fighting Bob Fest on Saturday, I do not want to make you feel worse by telling you how wonderful it was. But it was, and with more than 4,000 attendees, it was the biggest of the three Fests so far. To put this in context, it was larger than the Democratic and Republican state conventions combined. The event was covered by WPR, WORT, WOJB, The Guardian, Air America Radio, The Baraboo News Republic and the Capital Times. The lack of additional coverage does not discourage us but it lends support to those like Bob McChesney and John Nichols who were highly critical of the corporate media. All of the speakers were outstanding, the breakout sessions furthered the dialogue, and the enthusiasm on the fairgrounds made me think anything is possible. We will do our best on FightingBob.com to reproduce the speakers’ words and arguments in the coming weeks.
<snip>

Glad to hear you enjoyed. I've been to them all and this was one was as great as the first. Next year, bring some friends.

14. The Capital Times article
Crowd roars as speakers bash Bush

http://www.madison.com/tct/news/index.php?ntid=10508&nt_adsect=edit

"This is the worst environmental president we've had in American history," the hoarse-voiced Kennedy, 50, told a grandstand packed with people on an exquisitely sunny mid-September day.

Five years ago, the country's leading environmentalists could each give a long list of environmental threats facing the United States. Today, Kennedy said, they would all agree that there is only one environmental threat: George W. Bush.

"It's a stealth attack," said Kennedy, the third of 11 children born to Ethel and the late U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.

The excesses of the corporate power are eroding democracy, he said.

"The American people don't know it's happening because the press doesn't tell them," said Kennedy, who accused the media of marketing to the lowest common denominator with a focus on celebrities and sex.

"The dots are not being connected by this lazy and negligent press," he said

I was too busy this weekend to make it but I sure wish I could have been there.
