Is it just me or does Seattle have very few good breakfast joints?
I'm used to going out for great breakfasts on the weekends. In Seattle there appear to be few options....

there's Julia's, Wallingford; Longshoreman's Daughter, Fremont; Louisa's, Eastlake; the place that used to be the Doghouse-I think it's called The Hurricane on 7th, near Denny; that place on the top of Queen Anne, owned by the same people who own the Beeliner Diner (motto: Eat it and Beat it); the Five Spot, where Tom Leykis got beat up; The Hi Spot, Madrona and Beth's-it is the greasiest greasy spoon-there was one on Aurora at about 74th, it burned but I think it was rebuilt. The Athenian, in the Market...

6. Varsity Inn is supposed to be good.& they have 3 locations...
If you're looking for a good brunch on weekend, try Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union.

8. or the mother of all breakfasts at Salish Lodge
I swear the last time I was there for their 4 course breakfast (Super Bowl Sunday 1997) I couldn't eat for a day afterward. It's awesome but a lot of good food.

It was the starting point of our honeymoon a night at the Salish then on to the San Juan Islands.
The breakfasts are spectactular.

24. You bet, it's open!
Yes, Mr. Bill's is still there and is just off the 130th and Aurora intersection (NW Corner, behind the car dealership).

It's great.. very reasonable, huge portions (I live right in that area).

11. The best breakfast in the area is 30 miles south
at the Sunbreak Cafe in Auburn. Warning: order half portions. They give you about five pounds of food for a full-size breakfast.

13. Sunbreak ROCKS!
I try to get there at least once a month. My timing is usually off, since I seem to get there whenever Kirby Wilbur shows up. Hmmmmm.

18. Oh yuck, you reminded me why I quit going to Sunbreak!
My husband gave the manager what-for about them hosting that lunatic Wilbur's show there. The manager was quite taken aback.

God, I love the food, but I hate supporting anyone who gives money to right-wingers anymore.

There are PLENTY of great breakfasts - The Dish, Etta's Seafood, Cafe Campagne, Lola, Persimmon, Longshoerman's Daughter, Julia's and more than I can list.

The one thing I could never say about Seattle is that there aren't enough breakfast restaurants.

20. Being a Life Long Resident
I can think of one in the Roosevelt District called the Scarlet Tree.

There is Beth's on Aurora at about 69th.

There is one in downtown on Denny and 1st.

Two in West Seattle one on Alki.

The restaurant at Boeing Field use to have great breakfast, but I have not been there is ten years.

...but they aren't too happy about groups that take their time eating on busy mornings.

Another good Seattle choice is the Coastal Kitchen just north of Group Health.

On the eastside: If you're in Kirkland, check out the Original Brown Bag. Issaquah has the 12th Avenue Cafe (try their "Montana Special") and the Issaquah Cafe (which also has branches in a few other eastside towns, but I don't remember which right now). Bellevue has Chace's Pancake Corral on Bellevue Way south of "downtown."
