Kaine Cuts Into Kilgore's Lead!
Only a 3% (within margin of error) for Kilgore now! This would be big...

1. These new traffic ads for Kilgore are going to hurt Kaine in NoVa, though.
I hope he gets some ads on the air to counter that soon, because traffic is all anyone around here cares about, despite the fact that it's majority Democrat.

3. I've seen more Kaine ads
Those are more biographical though. Kilgore doesn't really say anything in his ads except that he wants to widen 66. I did notice that Kilgore has more direct mail though. I recieved a "voter guide" that didn't even disclose that it was part of a Kilgore campaign until the last page. Very deceptive to those who don't pay attention. I'm glad to see those poll numbers on the rise for Kaine.

4. Maybe we should do the same back to them.
I want to see Tim Kaine as the Governor of VA.

6. In the debate, Kaine said plans are already on the table to widen
the outbound lanes of I66. It would be difficult to widen the inbound lanes as the two lanes end on a two lane bridge that is owned, not by VA, but by DC. On the other hand, I have traveled on I66 during rush hour and it is a smooth, easy and quick ride for the Hov 2 drivers.

I do agree that we need another river crossing and I didn't hear anything from Kaine on that. We need an I95 bypass around the DC area for through traffic.

One thing that would reduce rush hour traffic a little would be if the schools would reduce the size of the student parking lots and issue parking permits only to students who had a need to drive to school. We already have public transportation in place for students, make more of them use it.

9. It's all BS anyway...
Kilgore is promising to widen 66 inside the beltway. That stretch was built in the first place after the state agreed with the homeowners in the area not to attempt to widen it in the future. This issue has come up periodically and never goes anywhere. Kilgore won't be able to get it done either. There are alot of homes there that butt right up to the road...there would be an uproar like you never heard before if he actually went through with his plans!!!

5. I'm not from Virginia , However I watched the Debate tonight on Cspan
I was so impressed with Kaine. This guy is the guy I wish we had in California. Tell it the way it is and don't hold back.

How is he doing there? I can't believe from the debate that anyone in their sane mind could even consider Kilgore , the man dodged every question asked of him to answer.

Tim Russert even beat on him, kilgore looked scared to even be there. Doesn't like he could run for a bus pass let alone governor.

You folks there in Virginia don't give up, it looks like you have the right guy for the job with Kaine.

Peace from a Blue state

8. I've been cruising around donor info for Kilgore
Edited on Fri Sep-23-05 03:27 PM by captain disgruntled
over at http://www.vpap.org/cands/cand_index.cfm?ToKey=COM01029&CycleID=2005 --some interesting shit. Koch Industries gave him $35,500--those are some seriously bad dudes. Kellogg Brown & Root (Halliburton subsidiary): $25,000. VA Asso'n of Realtors: $16,000 (development is a big issue in Loudoun/Fairfax Co's right now. Hardly seems likely that realtors would be backing somebody who doesn't support growth, now does it??) Keith's Driving School was mysteriously able to cough up no less than $11,500. Hmm. Associated Builders & Contractors - Va Chapter: $10K. C.B. Robertson III: $10,000. (interesting article here: http://www.baconsrebellion.com/Roadtoruin/BRNS_05-09-12.php)
